Q:My wife is a green card holder, but spends half the year in Italy. In the past she has been on my insurance plan (I am US citizen maintaining residence in US, but I am now on Medicare). She needs short term insurance while she is in the US for the next 6 months. Which insurance products is she eligible for?

A:
You can view the plans in the Visiting with Greencard section of our website to see what plans are available you. A popular plan for travelers visiting the USA with a green card is Patriot America Plus. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:I am looking into the Atlas America insurance for my father who is visiting the US.He is currently 79, but will turn 80 during his trip. For the coverage of "Acute onset of pre-existing conditions", it mentions coverage to policy max age for ages 80. Will he still be covered for acute onset for existing conditions after he turns 80 if he started the policy when he is 79?Thanks!

A:
Yes, Atlas America will allow the insured to retain all the benefits they had at the time they purchased the policy, even if they change age groups in the middle of the policy. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:Hi, I am looking for a health insurance for my mom, who is new immigrant to USA, but we missed the enrollment deadline (60 days) she is 75 years, where or what kind of health insurance can we get for her, for this year

A:
You can run a quote in the New Immigrants section of the website to see what is available to you. Generally speaking, there are only a few plans available to New Immigrants who have established residency. You can check out the Bridge Plan or International Major Medical. These would be the only plans available to you based on the information you provided. If you have additional questions I would recommend to call our office at 1(866)INSUBUY (4678289).

Q:Acute onset of pre existing condition question. What if the visitor has history of heart disease and needs to go to ER for some heart related issue. At the ER they monitor the patient for more than 24 hours is that considered valid case for acute onset of preexisting condition?

A:
We will not able to confirm if a specific situation is covered. Coverage will be determined based off of the attending physicians notes at the time of service. If it meets the definition of an Acute Onset of a Pre-existing condition, then is something that could receive coverage. I would recommend calling our office if you need further clarification on this.

Q:I am looking at Patriot America Plus Travel Insurance for my son for 100,000 coverage per annum. Does the policy have a Per incident maximum amount for the individual or it can be upto the policy maximum

A:
Patriot America Plus has an annual policy maximum, not a per incident maximum. "Annual" in this case will just mean for the life of the policy. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
