Q:Separate destinations My wife and I are making separate, long trips--she to Australia and New Zealand, I to Alaska. The trips are roughly at the same time. I begin my trip in the beginning of August and return at the end of September. She begins her's at the beginning of September and returns at the end of September. I want to know: Does the 'couples' insurance cover us if we go to separate destinations? Her case is pretty straight forward. However, I plan to motor to Alaska through Canada and not by ferry through the inland waterway. Can you make a case that I also need your medical evacuation insurance? We both are covered by bluc Cross/Blue Shield through my employer. Is the only benefit that I am insuring is that you will pay the shipping for my carcass? Please enlighten. I must make a decision on this issue and select an insurance carrier in the next few days.
Q:Complications of pregnancy Hello. I am an American citizen, currently living and working as a missionary in Cambodia. My current evacuation insurance is with ISOS. However, ISOS stops evacuation coverage after 24 weeks of pregnancy (even for non-pregnancy related problems). I am not planning to leave the country to have my baby until about 32 weeks, and I am looking for medical evacuation insurance that will cover me for that approximately 2-3 months (from 24 to 32 weeks gestation)that my current insurance won't. Evacuation to either Thailand or Singapore is fine (I do not want to be evacuated back to the US at this time because of other insurance reasons.) I would appreciate if you could tell me if you have any policies that would be appropriate to my situation, the specific information about the policies, the price, and how I would go about signing up with you since I am currently in Cambodia.
