Q:85 visiting USA: Pre-Existing conditions I am 85 and traveling in to Minnesota for a specific treatment. Are there any insurance plans that will cover my healthcare?

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Unfortunately, there is no insurance for an international visitor which provides you coverage if you are coming to USA for a medical treatment. You have to pay from your pocket.

Q:Best plan for 70 year old mom traveling USA from India I am bringing my recently widowed 70 year old mother to stay with me in Charlotte, NC for at least 6 months and maybe even a year. What is the best plan for her especially if she needs some coverage for any acute onset of pre existing conditions that might occur during her stay? Thank you so much for your help.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Before we suggest any plan would like to know whether she is coming to USA on visitor visa or immigrant visa, are you planning to file her green card? Once we get response from you will suggest insurance plan accordingly. Acute onset of pre-existing conditions are available up to age 69yrs. Practically for age 70 and above you purchase insurance only for new sickness, injuries or accident. However, some plan has coverage for sudden and unexpected recurrence of pre-ex conditions max. $2500. More information on sudden and unexpected recurrence of pre-ex at, /sudden-and-unexpected-recurrence-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Please visit our website if she is coming here on visitor visa, www.insubuy.com New immigrant visa insurance at, /new-immigrant-insurance/ Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. My mom is coming on a visitor visa but we are going to file for green card as soon as we can. Thank you for your quick reply. In that case I would suggest to purchase Patriot Platinum for $100k or patriot America or go travel plan for her. This plan is good for visitor as well as new immigrant. When you file her green card she will not be eligible for visitor insurance. Once she get social security number then she may be eligible for long term plan that is PPACA compliant plan. Please find more information at, /new-immigrants-medical-insurance-plans/ /medicare-for-new-immigrants-green-card-holders/ Insurance plans at /new-immigrant-insurance/ Please feel free to contact our office if you have any further questions.
