Q:Which is better one - WorldMed by AIG Vs Patriot America by IMG? Hi, My father is visiting me for 1 month. Dates September 3 2008 to October 2 2008. He is 68 years old. I want to take maximum insurance ($1,000,000) possible during his stay. I compared WorldMed by AIG and Patriot America by IMG. Any suggestions on which one is better? Which has better coverage First Health PPO by Patriot America or Multiplan PPO by WorldMed? Any help would be highly appreciated!!! Thanks, Sarosh

A:
Both are excellent plans. You can choose either one. Both First Health and MultiPlan are excellent PPO networks. e.g., even if there are 500 doctors in your area in one plan and 600 in other one, it does not make any practical difference when you need to use the insurance. Many Thanks for the quick response! Appreciate it!

Q:For France visitor visa, will my employer's medical insurance suffice? Hi, I am an Indian national and live in the US. I will be visiting France in September and from the consulate's website, I gathered that they require a proof of medical insurance. I've medical insurance through my employer which covers medical emergencies outside of US and i will be getting a letter stating my coverage limits including out-of-network coverages. Is this sufficient to show to the visa officer during my interview or do I need to purchase a separate traveller's insurance. Thanks in advance.

A:
That insurance is not enough, because in additional to medical expenses, Schengen visa requirements also ask to cover emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains that domestic US insurance companies don't cover. You can read about Schengen visa insurance requirements at /schengen-insurance/ You can purchase any of the plans listed at /schengen-visa-insurance/ and all of them meet all the requirements of Schengen visa. Around 15 minutes after the purchase, you can download a visa letter from /myaccount/ and present it to the consulate/embassy.

Q:Visitor care from IMG I am looking for insurance for my mother who just immigrated to the US. I looked at the Bridge plan and also the Visitor care from IMG. The IMG plan has the First HEalth PPO which seems attractive. Is there any major difference between the two plans for say $100,000 coverage? Thanks for your advice. Regards, GR

A:
Visitors Care is a fixed coverage plan while the Bridge plan is a comprehensive coverage plan. Please read /visitors-insurance/ to understand the difference between the fixed and the comprehensive coverage plans.
