Q:Hi. My daughter is a US citizen but is currently residing outside the country. She will be moving back to US as a full time University student. Can she enroll in Patriot America Plus for her health coverage during her studies? Thanks

A:
She would need to obtain domestic coverage in the United States if she will be moving back to go to school as this is not considered a visit. The Patriot America Plus plan is considered to available to U.S. citizens that are visiting the USA.

Q:I am currently sponsoring a green card for my father. His I-485 is pending and we would like to secure medical insurance coverage for him. Please advise.Best,Rakesh

A:
We would need additional information to be able to advise and see if we have any plans that could cover him because he is in an adjustment of status currently. We would need to know when he arrived in the U.S. and did he enter the U.S. on a B2 visitor visa, what state he is residing in currently, his country of citizenship and his age as well. If he is elgible for any domestic insurance, that would make him ineligible for our plans. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I live in Buffalo NY state and will be visiting England, France, Belgium and Spain in 2023, leaving the USA on January 13th and returning on May 25th. I am 74 years old female with a controlled heart condition. The visits will not include any cruises. I am looking for travel insurance but as the trip is a gift, medical and repatriation cover is the priority for cover ..... please advise

A:
You can find available Travel medical plans for traveling outside of the U.S. through this quote link: /travel-health-insurance/ However, the plans that we offer that can include some pre-existing condition coverage as long as someone is enrolled in a primary health plan in their home country, are not available to NY residents as you are not eligible for the plan if your mailing address is in NY. Therefore, the plans that would be available to you would cover for new illnesses that are contracted after the effective date or new injuries after the effective date of the policy. The plans will not provide coverage for preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. Some of the plans will provide an Acute onset of pre-existing conditions benefit or a Sudden and unexpected recurrence benefit. I have listed information links for those benefits below. /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ /sudden-and-unexpected-recurrence-of-pre-existing-conditions/ If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:How do i know if my insurance is active?

A:
You should have received your confirmation email which would show your selected dates of coverage. Coverage begins on the effective date for coverage expenses under the plan and expires on the selected expiration date. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:My sister who lives in Germany is coming back to the US for 3 months and i am looking for health insurance coverage here that pays the medical provider directly rather than just reimbursing the patient. Do you have a product like that for emergencies during travel by US citizen to the US?

A:
Payment and billing on any insurance plan is at the discretion of the provider. Often times direct billing is done for the patient as a courtesy however, the determination on how their business will receive monies for services rendered is up to them. There is not a plan that will guarantee direct payments.
