Q:My family member is visiting twice during the year for about one month each time. Must I buy two policies? Is there a policy where I can have multiple separate coverage periods in the year, July and December for example?

A:
There are plans available that could offer such coverage for shorter durations which can be found in the Annual Multitrip Insurance section. Please enter the appropriate information and view the available plans. Should you have questions you may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289 and our agents can assist you over the phone.

Q:Do we have to prove we are on a mission from a church? or can this be our own mission?

A:
Upon purchase there will be no proof, however at the time of a claim this may be asked for. Best practice is to be honest, unless there is some form of documented reason for the trip to be considered a mission it may just be considered a trip.

A:
This is all dependent on the plan that you are purchasing. Q:I am a US citizen who is resident in South Africa and I am a type one diabetic. I would like travel insurance for an upcoming trip to the US. Can you help me? Mary Kassam

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The insurance plans available are designed to cover the new illnesses and injuries that are contacted after the effective date. The plans exclude the coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. For US citizens whos primary residence is outside the USA, the options for medical insurance while visiting the United States are limited. However, it would be recommended to purchase a plan such as Patriot America Plus that could include the acute onset benefit for those age less than 70. Should you have a questions or need assistance you may contact us at +1 (866) 467-8289. Please read over the certificate wording of the plans and familiarize yourself with the benefits within them. Should you have additional questions please let us know.

Q:If we purchase two visitor policies for the same person, will the benefits be additive? Meaning can I add the lifetime maximum coverage for each policy together (say 250K from one and 100K from the second one to get a total of 250K)? Also, is there any restriction on buying two policies that are underwritten by the same company? E.g. Atlas and International Major medical - both of which are underwritten by Lloyd's?PS- this is a follow up to the question here: https://www.insubuy.com/answers/visitors-health-insurance/can-i-purchase-two-visitors-insurance-policies-for-the-same-person-how-will-it-work-in-case-of-claim-80376/

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. You may purchase two visitors insurance plans, but in the event of a claim the two plans will coordinate benefits with one another. Two policies having the same underwriter isn't generally an issue as the underwriter financially backs the insurance. Generally we recommend having two policies with separate administrators. Such as Atlas America and the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:Can I purchase two visitors insurance policies for the same person - say one that has higher lifetime maximum but no coverage for COVID/acute onset of pre-existing conditions and a second one with lower lifetime maximum but covers COVID/acute onset?

A:
Yes. You can purchase 2 insurance for the same person. If you need to use the insurance while filling the claim form you have to answer that insured person has another insurance also. And both company will do co-ordination of benefits for the eligible expense.
