Q:Health insurance for immediate pregnancy coverage Hello, My husband and I are moving back to virginia after having lived and worked in England for the last 3 years. We would like to start a family sooner rather than later, but I am finding that most plans have a 6 month waiting period before paying for pregancy as it is could be a pre-existing condition. Do you have any insurance plans for the state of Virginia for my husband and I (healthy aged 33 and 37-husband) so that we might enjoy getting pregnant this summer rather than this fall? My husband is still fully employed by a british company, but once we leave the UK we are no longer part of their nationalized health care. Best way to reach me is e-mail as we have yet to reactive the US phone Thanks,

A:
We, as a broker, offer health insurance from many different insurance companies. You can look at different products available in Virginia at /short-term-health-insurance/ Unfortunately, no insurance plan exists that would cover immediate pregnancy.

( BC Life and Health ShortTerm PPO $250 $370.80 $250member $1000member ) Currently I am in India, looking to come US soon, Green card holder. How much time it takes to get Insurance approval from yourside if I apply today only. How we can get the approval papers What are terms & conditions Do you have a India contact no Looking forward to hear from you soon. Thanks,

A:
If you have not been staying in the US for at least 3 months, you will have to go through the medical examination before you will be eligible to purchase the insurance. Otherwise, you will have to wait until you have stayed in the US for 3 months to apply. It takes around 1 to 2 weeks for the underwriting and approval after you apply. After that, insurance policy and the cards will be mailed to your California address. We are an American company and have presence only in the US. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for your reply. Is the below rule applies to any Insurance ex Aetna etc, Do you have anything I can get insurance starting first day only? Thank You, As far the rule regarding eligibility for persons are who already not staying in the US, Blue Cross of California is the best. You must be staying for 6 months in US before you can apply for Aetna, 2 years for Humana, 1 year for Assurant Health. You can look at the products at /new-immigrant-insurance/ that would cover you from the first day, until you get long term domestic health insurance. Can you please suggest which one is good among the list of providers in url for family. Thanks, Protection America.

A:
For short term visit less than 6 months, you can purchase Liaison International /patriot-america-plus-insurance/ as long as you spend more time outside the US than inside the US. Yes, Citizen Secure is a good plan. The underwriter is Lloyds and the AM Best rating is A "Excellent". It will cover pre-existing conditions just like any other medical conditions as long as disclosed on the application and not excluded by the rider. If rider is put, it will mention whether it will be permanent exclusion or for X number of years. /expatriate-health-insurance/ Please let me know if you have any other questions. I have tried both links u gave me ...interested in platinum which gives private room...but the brochure for both links u gave says for non. US citizens only......pls respond again for suitable insurance for citizens, w/max deductible, good major health coverage w/private room, if hospitalized...pls suggest appropriate one again....Thanks... Q:Global Medical Insurance - IMG Hello, I was previously insured via your website with a fixed rate expat insurance policy. I think it is Global Basic Insurance (excl. USA & Canada) My premium was $827 for Dec 2006 - Dec 2007 (I am 44yo now). That was fine because I was in Prague, Czech Republic, and the medical fees there are very much less than in the West. However, now I am in Paris, France and I want to have a plan that gives me access to the American Hospital. The cost of visiting a doctor there can be 150 - 250EUR/visit. Additionally i want to be covered at 100% in the event of hospitalization (i can deal with a small co-pay if necessary), and it would be nice if pre-existing conditions are covered. My only pre-existing condition is TMJ joint problem, but I haven't had any problems with that for awhile. No other history of medical issues or hospitalization. I've looked around a bit and I'm worried about a few things. - the dollar is quite weak now, so that is why i need a policy that covers things based on actual cost - some policies, like the Allianz Worldwide Care, or BUPA cost about 3000$/year for a plan that covers hospitalization as well as visits to a physician. Most of the plans you offer seem to be significantly less. Where is the difference? thanks

A:
Please look at Global Medical Insurance - Gold or Platinum at /expatriate-health-insurance/ to get better insurance product compared to Global Basic (Now called Global Medical Insurance - Silver). The reason Global Basic is cheaper than other products (including other products we offer) is because it has sub-limits on many different medical procedures. You can choose either 'WorldWide' or 'Worldwide excluding US/Canada'. Of course, 'Worldwide excluding US/Canada' is cheaper. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hello, Thanks for your message. I was looking at the Global Medical Insurance Gold. Does sub-limits mean there is a maximum payment for those procedures? Who would you recomment that product for as opposed to a more comprehensive package? What products that you offer are comparable to something like the Allianz package? thanks Gold does not have sub-limits that Silver (Formerly Global Basic) has. Silver plan is primarily for the people who travel to or live in places where those sub-limits would be enough. All the plans we offer are at /expatriate-health-insurance/ and you can compare them side by side in details. Unfortunately, I am not aware of the Allianz package. Once you get the material from us (from the web site) and also from them to compare to see which one would be better for you. If you have any further quesstions, please feel free to contact us at any time. Hello again, Thanks for this information. It seems that the Silver and Gold don't cover pre-existing conditions. Is the Citizen Secure plan reliable? It is most likely that i will just need coverage for doctor visits (is that outpatient?) thanks Yes, Citizen Scure is reliable. Yes, Dr visits come under outpatient. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
