Q:I'm going to Costa Rica for three months and in addition to 50,000 worth of travel health insurance that covers Covid 19, they also require 10,000 of quarantine insurance in case you need to be sequestered in a hotel for 14 days. Do you have a policy that meets these requirements?

A:
For travel to Costa Rica, there would only be one plan that will meet the minimum requirements for entry. The Safe Travels Voyager plan will have a medical maximum of $250,000, lodging benefit of $2,000, medical evacuation and repatriation coverage. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance please let us know.

Q:I need an insurance plan for 3 months in Dubai. Patriot America Plus 100/0, with a co-pay, suits my needs. Diplomat Long Term is 80/20 until 5,000 is paid. I do not think I will spend 5,000 in 3 months. Will the UAE accept the Patriot America Plus with the co-pay in Dubai?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. If you are in need of an insurance plan to cover you outside of the US we would recommend you purchase a plan from the COVID-19 Travel Medical Insurance section of our website and under coverage area select "International, Excluding USA". Keep in mind the plans are designed to cover you anywhere outside of your home country and will cover the new illnesses and injuries that manifest after the effective date. The plans will exclude the coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. Should you have additional questions please call our office at +! (866) 467-8289.

Q:I work for a college in Illinois and one of our student athletes is from Portugal and has purchased a policy from your company to cover him as a student. In the past, we found that some policies submitted by our athletes have excluded injuries from organized sports/college athletics. I am trying to verify that your coverage would include any athletic injury that might occur while participating in a college sport. Thank you for your help!

A:
The Diplomat America plan has an optional rider to include coverage for listed intercollegiate, interscholastic, athletics, club sports and organized amateur sports as one of the coverage options. When clicking on the link you have provided you will be able to view this information in the "Optional Coverage" bullet point listed under the plan information. If you provide us with his certificate number we will be able to verify the coverage under the plan he purchased and if he included this optional coverage. If you have additional questions please let us know.

Q:1) Both my wife and I are studying at the same university under the same program. (Both of us have F1 visas) Should we sign up for insurance separately? Or should I sign up and include a spouse? 2) In the Patriot America Plus program, I read that the insurance can be extended to a max of 24 months. However we are planning to study for a total of 3 years. Is this a problem if we want this coverage for our full 3 years? Can we just sign up for the same insurance program again after 2 years? 3) Just to be clear, Patriot America Plus program says "To policy maximum" for the "Student Health Center" So does this mean we can go to the Student Health Center at our university and everything is covered by our this insurance and we don't have to pay any money out of pocket? Thanks for all your help!

A:
We would be glad to answer your questions. 1.You could do it either way, as it would not make any difference in premium or benefits. However, we would normally recommend individual plans. 2.The plan can only be extended up to 24 months, so if you need further coverage you would repurchase a new policy. Keep in mind that anything that has happened during the first policy would be deemed pre-existing on the new plan as you would be starting over. 3.Coverage to the policy maximum means that for covered expenses, you would be covered up to the chosen policy's maximum. The plan will cover for new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. They do not cover things that are preventative, routine, or pre-existing. This plan does include Acute onset benefits of pre existing conditions and I have attached the information link below to explain that benefit option: Acute Onset FAQ The plans includes benefits for Covid-19 as well. The plans that offer benefits for Covid-19 will do so as long as it is contracted after the effective date. Then it will cover any medically necessary treatment up to the plan's benefit levels. It will not cover elective testing.

Q:I have a few questions about the different insurance products. So for the StudentSecure series, is says there is an "Outpatient Treatment" section in the brochure. For the Patriot America Plus, or ExchangeGuard series, there is only mention of "Outpatient surgical/hospital facility" From my understanding, this means that if I purchase the ExchangeGuard or Patriot products, and then I walk into a hospital (in the network) because I'm having back pains (for example) and the doctor says it isn't serious enough to have surgery and only prescribes painkillers, that won't be covered by insurance?

A:
Any plan will cover in or out patient treatment as necessary related to new accidents and illnesses that manifest after the effective date of the policy.
