Q:I want to adjust my quote based on 2500 deductible. Also, I have a question. Let's say I want to visit a doctor for a fever for my inlaws. If I go to hospital would only the co-pay of $15 apply. If yes, what all are the hospitals available. My Zip is 94560. Another thing is , my colleague took Safe Travels USA Comprehensive how is it different from atlas america?

A:
Atlas America's $15 copay applies only at the Urgent care or walk-in clinic. An ER visit would be subject to the deductible amount you select. When visiting the ER if someone were to visit for an illness, and not be admitted to the hospital an additional $200 copay will apply. You may search for providers within your area by using the provider link for the First Health PPO Network . The Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan will waive the deductible at an in-network facility, and then the plan will pay 100% up to the policy maximum limit. With the Atlas America plan you are subject to the deductible within the network, and thereafter the plan will pay 100% up to the policy maximum whether you visit an in-network or out of network facility. One other important difference is the coverage available under the acute onset of pre-existing condition coverage. The Atlas America plan will provide this coverage up to the policy maximum limit you select for insureds under the age of 70. The Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan will also include this coverage up to the policy maximum for individuals less than 70, but if the event is cardiac related the coverage would be reduced to $25,000 for this age group.

Q:I am on F1 visa and following are the requirements: (Short Term Medical, CICP, Medical Sharing Plans, and Student Select Plans DO NOT qualify) Does your plan have In-Network non-emergent care providers in the Denver metropolitan area (OR, in your local area for online-only students)? Is your In-Network deductible less than or equal to $7,350/single or $14,700/family? Does your plan have Mental Health parity (i.e. covers mental health as any other sickness)? Does your plan cover Preventative Care at 100% with no cost to the insured? Does your plan cover pre-existing conditions? Does your plan cover prescriptions? Does your plan meet Minimum Essential Coverage as defined under the Affordable Care Act? Will your plan provide to you a 1095B indicating that you maintained and met the mandate for continuous coverage?

A:

I am looking for health insurance coverage that could potentially cover me outside of the country but also if I returned to the states, if I could also get coverage in Washington. In addition, would insurance coverage airlifting back to the states if needed? Thank you.

Q:I am looking for Insurance coverage for my mother who is 65 years old, has USA green card, is ineligible for Medicare (since she has only been in USA for less than 5 years). She lives in the USA for 6-7 months and in India for 5-6 months of the year and pays taxes in both places. She lives in WA when she is in the USA. I talked to a rep on the phone the other day and they suggested "International major medical" coverage for her. I want to sign her up for it but was unclear how they define home country. Can you confirm that she will be covered in the USA if we get this policy?

A:
The International Major Medical plan bases its eligibility on the country of citizenship of the insured. As long as they are not a U.S. citizen, they are eligible to purchase this plan. Please keep in mind the plan is not ACA compliant, and will only cover new illnesses, injuries or accidents which occur after the effective date of the policy.
