Q:My parents who are both 67 years of age are visiting US for 2 months. I would like to get an insurance for both of them. They are both taking medication for diabetes and cholesterol. My father recently had angioplasty procedure and had to put 2 stents. My mom doesn't have any other issues apart from cholesterol and diabetes. Also they have high blood pressure too. Can you please suggest me an affordable insurance that i can take for them and what all are covered. Let me know if you need any other information to get me a quote.

A:
We would be glad to advise. All plans on the market for visitors cover new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. They do not cover things that are preventative, routine, or pre-existing. Some plans do include Acute onset benefits of pre-existing conditions and I have attached the information link below to explain that benefit option. If your parents are traveling on B2 visitor visas, you can run quotes here, with their other specific information to see what plans would be available to them and the cost of the plans as well. We do recommend the Comprehensive plans, as the Fixed plans are limited benefit plans. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

I am 65 so I also have medicare coverage ( A and B) in the US. I am planning to visit friends and family for 3 months starting in December I am looking for a policy that would cover anything that medicare does not cover. I have no pre existing conditions, no health issues, and take no prescriptions. What can you recommend?

Q:I wish to purchase travel insurance for my mother who is visiting USA next month. Below is the plan I wish to purchase. Safe Travels for visitors to the USA - Fixed Coverage Plan Period : 6 months Regarding the above I have the following queries : 1. Can I cancel the policy and get the policy premium refunded if the entry is denied at the port of entry ( i.e. at US airport ) ? 2. Can I cancel the policy and get the policy premium refunded for the balance days if admission period is limited ( say 3 months ) than the usual 6 months ? 3. AS per my understanding, "Safe Travels for visitors to the USA - Fixed Coverage" participates in First Health PPO Network

A:
Please see the answers to your questions listed below. 1. The plan is fully refundable prior to the effective date of the policy. After the effective date it would be a prorated refund minus $25 cancellation fee as long as no claims have been filed on the plans since the effective date. 2. See Answer 1 3. This plan does participate in the First Health PPO Network. If you have any additional questions please contact our office.

Q:I am Chinese graduated student at Tsinghua University in China. Recently I am applying a J1 visa to go to Pasadena as a short-term scholar. Evacuation refers to transporting an injured person for medical treatment. 4.Repatriation coverage for up to $25,000. Repatriation refers to transporting a body to the country of citizenship after death. Could you give me some advice about it ? I found an insurance, Exchange Guard Essential, maybe it is suitable?

Q:I am trying to buy J-2 Compliant insurance for my family. I want the ExchangeGuard Choice with $250,000 policy maximum per person, $100 per-incident deductible and 100/0 co-insurance. When I entered this information, it gave me a cost summary which showed $0.00 for 3rd insured person (son). I wonder if this is what it should be. My insurance (J-1) is with a different company.

A:
The ExchangeGuard plan will cover 1 child under the age 10 at no additional cost with a covered parent on the plan. So the $0 is correct as this child will be covered but at no cost to you.
