Q:I am a J1 Exchange visa holder and I am interested in buying medical insurance under these circumstances J1 and J2 Medical Insurance Coverage Dates 02032023 03022023J1 and J2 Recommended Repatriation of Remains and Medical Evacuation Insurance 2132023 2122024I would appreciate it if you could let me know how I can purchase those services from INSUBUY

A:
The plans in the J1/J2 Exchange Visitor section of the website will meet or exceed the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of State for a J visa holder. If your sponsoring organization requires additional coverage outside of these requirements, you are welcome to send these requirements to info@insubuy.com and we can review them and recommend a plan that will meet them. If you are looking for stand-alone coverage for medical evacuation and repatriation there is a plan called Atlas MedEvac that will provide only those benefits without medical coverage.

Q:Hi, I'm visiting from the UK at the end of the month I am currently on the waiting list for an undiagnosed medical condition. Can I still get cover? I also have pre-existing conditions can I get cover for these?

A:
Plans are designed to cover the new accidents and illnesses that did not exist on the effective date of the policy. There would not be any coverage for routine visits, preventative care or related medications. There are plans that provided coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. You can take a look at the plans in the Travel Outside the USA section of the website for plans that will offer this coverage.

If you are needing a plan that can include some pre-existing condition coverage as long as you are fit to travel and not coming to the U.S. for medical treatment, we do have 1 plan that can provide some pre-existing conditions benefits. Please see the plan link to review the coverages: /visitors-protect-insurance/ The plan must be purchased before departure from home country, it is not extendable, and the pre-existing condition benefit has it's own $1500 deductible. It also has a 90 day minimum purchase. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
