Q:Patriot America insurance questions I got your contact from your site. Not sure whether you entertain direct emails or not. Anyway wanted to contact you directly with couple of queries: I have almost made my mind to buy Patriot America for my mother who is going to visit me for 2 months starting from August 8th. I need the following clarifications: 1. In the brochure, under claim processing, it appears as if for every claim, the insured will have to pay the full amount and then file the claim with the insurance company for settlement. If we are obtaining the services from PPO, will the provider not directly bill the insurance company and then bill the insured if there is anything extra which is not covered. May be I am reading it wrong, but I need a confirmation before I buy. 2. In the brochure, it does not mention specifically how prescriptions are covered. Can you please clarify? 3. For ER visit, which does not end up with hospitalization, there is an additional deductible of $250. Does this mean if my policy deductible is $250, I will have to pay first $500, before insurance start paying? Is this correct? I would really appreciate your feedback on the queries and on the this policy (Patriot America) in general.

A:
1. Please read /international-medical-ppo-network/ to understand how exactly it works. What is written in the brochure is a general statement as Patriot America is valid all over the world except home country. And outside US, there is no concept of PPO. 2. Prescription drugs are covered just like any other medical expenses. 3. That rule does not apply for injuries or accidents. That is only for the sicknesses that don't result in hospitalizaton. And your understanding is correct. You can make instant purchase of Patriot America online at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any other questions. Thank you very much for the prompt response. Couple more things: 1. On the online application, there is filed 'Area of Coverage' - the options are '---Quote All Coverage Areas---', 'Area 2 - excluding US/Canada', 'Area 3 - Worldwide'. What should I be selecting here. My mother is traveling from India to US and then will go back from US to India. She does not intend to travel to any other country. 2. She will start on 8th August from India and will leave US on 11th October and will be reaching India on 12th October. What should be my start date and end date on the policy? As per me, it should be 8th August and 12th October. Please advise. 3. I assume that travel is covered in Patriot America. Please confirm. 1. That question is a programming mistake. Coverage is valid anywhere outside home country, including US/Canada, no matter what you put. Anyway, put Area 3. 2. Start date: Aug 7 End Date: Oct 13 In order to cover during travel. 3. Look at answer #2. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Protection America questions Before I buy, I would like to get answers to the following questions: 1 - If I need to visit a general physician, how will the payment be made? Do I need to make the payment upfront and then get reimbursed from Protection America insurance or do pay nothing upfront and the company will send me a bill which would be 20% of total (after 250 deductible)? 2 - If I need to visit a specialist, how will the payment be made? Are the costs and coverage any different from that of regular physician or does 80/20 rule still apply? 3 - What about emergency/urgent care? 4 - Can I get access to provider's directory? 5 - Is this covered anywhere within the US? 6 - Can I go to any doctor or does it have to be the one in your provider directory? 7 - Can I go to any hospital or does it have to be the one in your provider directory? 8 - What would be considered in-network and what would be out-of-network? Are costs different for out-of-network? If so, how does it work? Say, I spend $100 out-of-network, is it still $80 paid from you and $20 from my pocket?

A:
I have answered your questions below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. 1. 2. Read the description at /international-medical-ppo-network/ 3. Same as answer 1, for accidents, for sickness that result in hospitalization. If you visit an emergency room for a sickness for which you are not admitted into hospital, there is extra $250 charge per visit. Urgent care is same as answer 1. 4. Yes, click on 'Search Providers' link at /international-medical-ppo-network/ 5. Yes, except to the residents of Florida or Florida mailing address. (You can still visit Disney World, Miami beach etc.) 6, 7, 8. You can go to any doctor or hospital. There is no restriction. If you visit the doctors or hospitals in the network, after the deuctible, insurance company will pay 80% for first $5,000 (or 90% if purchased). It is 70% for out of network for first $5,000.

Q:Validity of visa for new immigrants medical insurance I am researching on the insurance availability incase if my relatives immigrate to the USA. If a person overstays due to unavoidable conditions, will the health insurance be honored even during the overstay period? Will the hospitals check the validity of the visa duration? Appreciate your answers to these questions. Thank you

A:
Hospitals or insurance companies don't check the validity of visa. As long as the insurance is effective and insured is eligible for the insurance, insurance company will pay for covered expenses. You can buy the insurance online at https://www.insubuy.com Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Visa letter in Italian for Schengen travel insurance We have a client that is traveling to Italy for about 10 months and is in the process of applying for the Patriot Plan for $1mil of coverage and the Leisure sports rider. The Italian Consulate needs her to send proof that she will have medical insurance while she travels overseas. I am assuming she can send the policy that she will receive to them and that should suffice, but she wants to know if you guys can also send the policies in Italian? Let me know.

A:
Once person purchases the insurance, he/she can download the visa letter at /international-medical-visa-letter/ That's all that is required. Letter in Italian is not required by the consulate and not provided by us. English is sufficient. We sell thousands of such policies and English letter has been fine. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any other questions.

Q:Mountain climbing travel medical insurance Hello, I am an American traveling to Tanzania and need to acquire traveler insurance before I leave. The main reason is because I am scheduled to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro with a guided group. Your extreme sports rider only covers mountaineering up to 4500 meters, and Kilimanjaro stands at 5000 meters but I have heard from other people that because Kilimanjaro is actually more of trekking (at no point are ropes or climbing involved), you are sometimes willing to waive that limit for a fee. Please let me know if this is true, as I need to get my insurance before I leave for Tanzania on July 23. Look forward to hearing from you,

A:
You can purchase Atlas International with 'Hazardous Sports Rider' as the rider does NOT have 4500 meter restriction. /atlas-international-insurance/
