Q:Help me in selecting plan for my father who is currently 71 years old and I wanted to make him visit doctor for consultation. It should also covers Xray's and normal checkups. He will be there in US for 3 months on a visitor visa.

A:
If you father is traveling to the U.S. on a B2 visitor visa, he would then need a visitor plan. However, all plans on the market for visitors cover new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. They do not cover preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. Therefore, your scenarios would not be covered under any visitor plan. Some plans do come with Acute Onset benefits of pre-existing conditions. That benefit is for sudden and unexpected emergencies due to pre-existing conditions that come in without symptom or warning, are rapidly progressing and require treatment within 24 hours. However, these are emergency situations and would not apply to consultations and preventative check-ups. If you do want a plan with Acute onset benefits for your father, we would recommend the Atlas America plan. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:I need health insurance for my mom and dad as they will be visiting US in Sep 2019. Dad - 62 years old Mom - 59 years old Date of Traveling to US To USA - Sep 11, 2019 From USA - Feb 02, 2019. Could you please share few options for the same?

A:
If they are traveling to the U.S. on a B2 Visitor visa, you may run quotes through the Visitors to the USA section to see what plans would be available to them based on their ages, citizenship, and the state to which they are traveling first. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Q:My father and mother coming to USA from India. My father is 75 and mother is 65. Will buying the policy together is better or individual policy for each should I buy. Also, if I buy insurance monthly and keep extending it will be better or buying at once for the whole period of travel will be better in terms of price. If I buy monthly, will that deductible be applicable for extension policies.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Most plans require you purchase separate since they are in different age groups. The difference in price could be an extension fee that most plans charge when you extend. Deductibles would not be per month but for the whole period. If you know what plan you want to purchase we can be more specific with the responses.
