Q:Transportation to home Country? I have been working in the US for nearly 4 years now. So i am a danish citizen but a us resident since i am working here. I have no family in the US so my parents are worried that if i should die or get severely sick/not able to work anymore and i would need a medical transport back to Denmark that they would not be able to afford it. I already have medical insurance through my employer and it even covers transportation back to my home country - but they consider that the US since i live here. I was reading through some of the policies and it seems like the IMG policies states you can have 2 home countries if you have a passport from another country but i don't know if you can just decide then where you live? Or does anybody know if any policies that will pay for transportation back to Denmark? It can be a combined travel insurance or a separate insurance. So far my problm has been everybody consider the us my home country since i work here even thought i consider Denmark my homecountry due to my family being there. Any suggestions? Thanks

A:
For the Emergency Medical Evacuation Benefit and or the Return of Mortal Remains, these benefits for a Non-US Citizen would be to the home country (there can only be 1 Home country) as indicated/listed by the insured on the application as explained on page 21 of the Patriot America Certificate Wording. Thus if Denmark is listed on the application as the home country, these benefits would be to Denmark. You can purchase Patriot America online at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/

Q:Need Help on Insurance claim Hello Insubuy Team, I bought Insubuy-Seven Corners insurance for my father-in-law (69 years old) visiting USA. He arrived here on May 29th, 2014 and he fell sick on May 30th. I took him to a clinic first and his condition deteriorated drastically and was taken to emergency as per the doctor. He was treated for Urinary Track Infection and Sepsis and we got a total bill of over 25k. He never had this issue anytime in the past but the insurance denied it stating that it is a pre-existing condition. This infection is something that can happen to anybody/anytime, even as per the doctor. Please help us in appealing again and reconsider the situation. Thanks Vijay

A:
I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your claim. Please contact our office so that we can discuss and determine the next course of action. You would need to send us all of his medical records from his treatment in the US. And also the authorization from your father-in-law which allows us to discuss his specific claim with Seven Corners. And I can send you that privacy release form once you contact us.

Your policy must begin on the same day you enter the U.S. (which means you will need to purchase this coverage BEFORE you arrive in the U.S.) Your policy must be effective until the day you leave the U.S. after the completion of your program. Please recommend best policy and send me the link to take Insurance policy thanks

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing J1 visa insurance. There is no plan available in the market exactly as described due to the following reasons: 1. Maternity or pregnancy care. It is usually not covered in any short term plan. However, it may be covered in some plans as long as you are not already pregnant at the time of effective date. 2. Emergency Medical Evacuation. All plans evacuate the person to the nearest place where adequate care can be given and not necessarily to home country. Please read /emergency-medical-evacuation-to-india/ for further information. Please check whether your school whether they would accept the plan with the above two restrictions. Once you get back to us, we would be glad to suggest you the suitable plan that would meet the requirements.

Q:Sky Rescue Insurance Hello, I had some questions about your medical evacuation procedures. My husband and I are current customers but we are working at a mission base that is looking at the importance of having evacuation insurance for the staff. Our phones are currently not working so I am sending an email, sorry. Our mission is based on a tiny island in the Caribbean. We are on the island of Mayreau. It is part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. We do not have an airport. Is one needed? Are you able to access most areas? We have a big enough area of cleared land to land a helicopter but it has a downward grade and is not smooth. Is that something you can work with or would we need to get a boat to another island to have you land? We can get a speed boat to the island with an airport but the airport closes at nighttime. Is this a problem? Also, if there is a life or death emergency, how fast can you get to us? Thank you so much. Again, I am sorry we couldn't do this over the phone.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing emergency medical evacuation insurance. You can consider purchasing the Sky Rescue plan at /trip-cancellation-insurance/ The following are the answers to your questions. We do not have an airport. Is one needed? No, we have a variety evacuation providers that employ a variety of methods to conduct evacuations. Are you able to access most areas? Yes, by plane, helicopter, boat, ambulance, etc. We have utilized many different methods to evacuate our insurds. We have a big enough area of cleared land to land a helicopter but it has a downward grade and is not smooth. Is that something you can work with or would we need to get a boat to another island to have you land? We would coordinate with a local evacuation provider and the treating physician to determine the best, most efficient means necessary to conduct the evacuation. We can get a speed boat to the island with an airport but the airport closes at nighttime. Is this a problem? We would coordinate with a local Evacuation provider and treating physician to determine the severity of the condition and thus the most efficient and quickest method of evacuation to the nearest qualified facility. Also, if there is a life or death emergency, how fast can you get to us? In all cases, the process begins immediately. The time it takes depends on how quick we can coordinate an evacuation provider that has the necessary transportation available at that time. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
