Q:Insurance for elderly parents in their 80s.

A:
If your parents are coming to the U.S. on B2 visitor visas, you can find plans for him through this link: /visitors-insurance/ For proposed insureds in their 80s, we would recommend this plan: /safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ It can provide a policy maximum of up to $50,000 for their age group. The plans will cover for new illnesses and new injuries that are contracted after the effective date. They do not cover for preventative care routine maintenance or pre-existing conditions with the exception of acute onset of pre-existing condition benefits on some plans. We have one plan if the proposed insureds are elgible for the plan based on the eligbility requirements, that can provide some pre-existing condition benefits if they are fit to travel and not coming to the U.S. specifically for medical treatment. For someone who is 80 plus years old, it can provide up to $50,000 of coverage for new illnesses and new injuries contracted after the effective date of the policy, and a $20,000 benefit for pre-existing conditions with an individual $1500 deductible. It also has a 90 day minimum purchase and is not extendable so you would need to purchase it for the full 6 month duration when purchasing and if you select dates less than 90 days of course, you would still be charged for the 90 day minimum. /visitors-protect-insurance/ Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Q:I need a 3 week policy for my 76 year old father. He has a pace maker. He's healthy. What are my options?

A:
If your father is coming to the U.S. on a B2 visitor visa, you can find plans for him through this link: /visitors-insurance/ The plans will cover for new illnesses and new injuries that are contracted after the effective date. They do not cover for preventative care routine maintenance or pre-existing conditions with the exception of acute onset of pre-existing condition benefits on some plans. Here is some information about acute onset benefits: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ For his age, a plan with acute onset benefits we could recommend would be this plan: /atlasamerica-insurance/ The only plan we have that can provide some pre-existing condition coverage if the proposed insured is fit to travel and not specifically coming to the U.S. for medical treatment is the Visitors Protect plan. It can provide a $20,000 benefit for pre-existing conditions built into the plan and that has it's own $1500 deductible. However, there is a minimum 90 day purchase for that plan. So even if you entered in the 3 weeks of dates, it would charge you the premium for the 90 day minimum. /visitors-protect-insurance/ Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Q:Hi, I want coverage to cover dental expenses in case one of my parents have to undergo a root canal for a tooth. I'm trying to understand what coverage is available now under visitors insurance for such procedures. Or do I need to get Careington Individual Dental server or Dental insurance, and which one is better option of the two?

A:
There is not a dental insurance available to visitors and some visitor plans would only provide limited benefits for a dental accident or acute unexpected pain. We do have the Careington dental discount plan that may be available depending on the state in which they will be visiting. /individual-family-dental-plans/ You can contact a provider that accepts Careington in your area to see after any discounts the plan could provide towards those services what the cost would be. Please let us know if you have additional questions.

No, your plan does not provide coverage for vaccinations. Your plan as well as all plans for visitors, do not provide coverage for preventative care and vaccines fall under preventative care. Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Q:what is the cost of insurance for someone over 75 with a pre-existing medical condition travelling to the usa

A:
We have one plan that can provide some pre-existing condition coverage. It does have a 90 day minimum purchase, so even if you put in dates less that 90, it will still charge you for a full 90 days. At 75 years of age, this plan has a built in $20,000 benefit for pre-existing condition coverage as long as you are fit to travel and not coming to the U.S. specifically for medical treatment. It also has an individual $1500 deductible. /visitors-protect-insurance/ Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
