Q:My brother booked a cruise for me, on May 16th for September 25, 2022. He did not add travel insurance. On June 6th, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. My doctor has told me to absolutely go on my trip. However, I am concerned about not having the travel insurance, just in case anything happens. Are there any options for adding insurance and covering preexisting conditions? Should I cancel the cruise and re-book adding the insurance? Cruise line is offering refund/future cruise credit, so I wouldn't lose any money.

A:
Unfortunately, cancer is a standard exclusion under all travel medical insurance plans. The plans are designed to offer coverage for new illnesses and injuries contracted after the effective date. They will exclude the coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance you may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:1. WHAT IS PPO ? REQUEST EXPLAIN IN DETAIL.2. WHAT ARE MAJOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN COMPREHENSIVE AND FIXED COVERAGE PLANS.

A:
The PPO network is a list of doctors that partner up with the insurance in order to keep rates low. generally going out of networks would result in you paying more for a service. /ppo-network-claims-international-medical-insurance/ There are two different types of plans on the market; fixed plans and comprehensive plans. Fixed Coverage plans will pay fixed amounts according to a "Schedule of Benefits". They will pau up to a certain fixed dollar amount listed in the schedule of benefits and you are responsible to pay the difference. This means the majority of the cost will come from your pocket, rather than the plan. Comprehensive plans will pay a percentage, anywhere from 75%-100%. Similar to what you see in domestic insurance plans, as far as coinsurance goes. All plans on the market are going to cover new injuries and illnesses that manifest after the effective date of the policy. There is not a single plan on the market that will cover things such as pre-existing conditions, preventative care or routine maintenance.

Q:I am looking for for medical insurance for a person from India who had a kidney transplant about 6 years ago and is also diabetic and has blood pressure. Is there an insurance provider who will cover him?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. You may purchase Visitors Insurance, but keep in mind that visitors insurance plans are designed to primarily cover someone for new illnesses, injuries or accidents that manifest or occur after the effective date of the policy. They are not designed to cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctors visits or preventative treatments, but some plans will include coverage for acute onset of pre-existing conditions. The final determination as to whether or not the medical situation is covered under the policy is made by the claims department using the attending physicians statement, and medical records that are generated at the time of the incident. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:My wife and I travel out of the country a few times each year, and since we are both on Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield, which will not cover our medical expenses - we probably should get travel medical insurance. My question to you is, which of your policies will cover us best? We are respectively 72 and 73 years old, in excellent health, and very active. We have never had a medical problem, but we are going to Asia in Sept-Oct 2022 and they require proof of at least 10,000 for COVID health care.

A:
