Q:Schengen visa for germany - Patriot International hi. i'd like to purchase an insurance policy in order to apply for a german visa. my tourist visa expires very soon, and i haven't had a chance to "shop around". i came across your site through google. the prices definitely sound right. :) i just wanted to know, can i purchase for just 1 month and submit the weblink generated confirmation when applying for a visa? i ask b/c i haven't had much time to see my health insurance options and i am tight on time. i may renew the PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL policy, but this also gives me time (1 mo.) to browse other options through both public and private insurance companies in germany. additionally, in the web-generated print out that i would take to my local visa registration, is the duration/length of coverage written on it? and if so, would that make a difference on obtaining or being turned down for a visa? i look forward to hearing from you. looking forward to PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL. :) best regards,

A:
Patriot International is only for US citizens and US citizens don't require Schengen Visa. For non-US citizens, you have to consider Patriot America. Patriot America can be renewed only if you buy for minimum 3 months initially. /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ If you would like to buy month by month, you have to buy Protection America, available at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ Once you buy the insurance, you can download the visa letter at /myaccount/ Yes, the insurance duration is written on the visa letter. Please let me know if you have any other questions. thanks for that fast response! i am a US Citizen hoping to obtain a residence permit in germany. one requirement for the application is that i have health insurance..... i was thinking PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL. if i purchased the coverage for 1 month (and the date of coverage noted on the printable confirmation letter), will this prevent me from obtaining a 1 year residence permit? again, i just ask b/c PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL may or may not be the coverage i'd like for my full year of residence in germany. your website makes it quite convenient however, to obtain coverage immediately. i would just like to make sure that the dates written on my application document stating the duration of coverage will not prevent issuance of my visa. :) thank you again. Yes, you can purchase for one month. We don't know about what kind of impact it will have on year your trial to get 1 year visa. You need to ideally purchase the insurance for entire 1 year. i just wanted to know, can i purchase for just 1 month and submit the weblink generated confirmation when applying for a visa? i ask b/c i haven't had much time to see my health insurance options and i am tight on time. i may renew the PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL policy, but this also gives me time (1 mo.) to browse other options through both public and private insurance companies in germany. You can purchase Patriot International at /patriot-international-lite-insurance/ Once you purchase the insurance, you will get an email which will have the link to print the visa letter or the confirmation of coverage. You can also download the same at /myaccount/

Q:Travel insurance - Sick father am planning a three day tour trip to Williamsburg on December 11-13. I have an elderly, sick father and although he is not traveling with me, I would like to purchase a trip interruption insurance, in case that there is a medical emergency or death, which forces me to cancel my trip. I tried getting one with the tour company I made reservations with, but the insurance they offer, only covers me if "the interruption is not caused by someone that has a pre-existing condition", I found that to be really strange, since this is precisely, why I need to have this type of insurance. I am doing this as a precaution, since there is so much time from now until my trip, and I can't for see the future. I need a confirmation if this insurance is going to cover my trip expense if there is injury or death of a family member at least 15 days before my trip date. Thank you in advance for you assistance.

A:
If you already have a foreseable event (such as God forbid, possible death of already sick father), that is not covered by any insurance. Thanks for your prompt response. No I don't have a foreseeable event, thank God!, it's just as a precaution; like I said in my email and emergency. If the answer is yes, then I would like a form for me to complete. Thanks, Before I give you the accurate answer, I need some addtional information: * When did you make the initial trip deposit for this trip? * What is the departure date? * Please provide more information about the sickness of your father. Have the doctors already concluded that he may die within next 1 year? Is he currently actively undergoing any treatment? Is his current health stable? The initial deposit for this trip was made April 17. I sent am email to the tour company requesting information and I did not received a response. Consequently I called them and they do have an insurance but does not have the coverage that I was looking for. The departure date is December 11 and returning on the 13th. My father has Alzheimer and the doctors have not concluded anything, just the fact that he is 83 years old and is under Alzheimer's treatment. His health is fine and stable, other than the dementia. I don't know what else I could tell you. Anything can happened to any one, including me but since I had to make the reservation so far in advance, I just wanted to have some type of insurance that could cover at least for me, to be able re-schedule the trip if needed. It is not as if I was trying to scam anyone, just trying to do the right thing. Based on what you are saying, the condition is stable and not considered a pre-existing conditions. If there have been no changes in treatment or medican in the past 90 days, you can feel comfortable purchasing the policy as is and will being ok if your father takes a turn for the worse. You can purchase Travelex Travelite at /trip-cancellation-insurance/ If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Q:Pre-existing conditions I am 60 years old male, US citizen, staying in Arizona. I am going to Costa Rica on Saturday to get dental implant work done. Initial trip deposit more than 1 month back. I had stent put in his body for heart condition last June. Stable condition and no treatment since then. No change in health condition. Past 180 days look back period. If I get into any heart trouble while over there in Costa Rica, would Travelex cover it? Or would I be excluded because I am going there for a medical treatment? (Even though I am is going for dental work and not for heart related work?) Could you please clarify?

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing trip insurance from us. Based on the information you have provided the heart condition is not considered a pre-existing condition at this point. Any complications or worsening of the heart (as long as it does not occur because of the dental work which is highly unlikely) could be afforded coverage under the policy. Treatment for dental work does not provide an exclusion for anything other than that specific issue and would not apply to the heart issue. Please look at Travelex's Travelite and TravelPlus plans at /trip-cancellation-insurance/ If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
