Q:Offering travel Insurance to Canadians? Hi there, I'm wondering whether you can suggest a solution for the following scenario, and if any products you offer might work for us: We are a Canadian couple (in our 30s) who travel extensively for business. We are investigating opportunities that would see us traveling for more than 6 months of a calendar year, but Canadian residents lose their provincial health care if they are out of their home province for more than half the year. (And, since we do have national health care in Canada, there are no options for buying private domestic health insurance here; it is only possible to supplement the government coverage they expect you to already have.) Not only that, but *all* travel insurance you can purchase in Canada requires that you be covered under a provincial health plan. So if we travel for more than 6 months of the year, we not only lose our health care coverage at home, but we lose the opportunity to purchase additional travel insurance from our normal Canadian insurance providers. If we were only going to be in one or two other countries, it would be simple to look at visitor's insurance offered by those countries. However, the nature of our travel has us moving around every week or two from country to country. It's mostly European travel, but other continents are also possible. This would mean 3 - 5 different short ( 3 - 14 day) visitor's insurance policies from different countries every month for several months. We would obviously prefer to find a single solution that would cover us for a period of 6 - 8 months or so, wherever we travel, although we realize this might not be possible. We can receive domestic coverage when we're in Canada by applying for "Visitor to Canada" coverage from domestic insurance companies if we return to Canada from a long absence while we are waiting to fulfill the residency requirements to re-qualify for provincial health care. So, we are not concerned about coverage while in Canada. But, we are still trying to find a single travel insurance option while out of the country (since no Canadian insurance company will issue travel insurance if you don't have provincial coverage). Do you have any suggestions for a single international travel plan that might fit this situation? Is our best bet simply to seek out visitor's insurance from each country we visit? Kind thanks for your assistance.

A:
We have a couple of options for you. If you go to our website at /expatriate-health-insurance/ . This link is for our ex-patriots plans. They are a more permenant solution for you guys. Click on the brochures to see the coverages and if you need further assisatance please contact us. Thank you! They do seem to be what we were looking for. Now we can evaluate our travel options, the cost/benefit etc., properly and decide whether traveling more than 6 months a year does make sense for us. Thanks again for such a quick and helpful answer. If we find ourselves making that decision, we will absolutely look to you for your services. :) Expatriate plan you can't stay in USA more than 6m in a yr. Thank you, that's not a concern. We are Canadian residents and travel mostly to Europe, very occasionally to the US. If we are in Canada for longer than six months, we have domestic options for insurance. The ExPat. plan would only be of interest to us if we were outside of Canada for more than 6 months, and very little of that would be in the U.S. This restriction is only for USA.

Q:Visitors insurance for pre-existing conditions Thank you for your message, I have compared the Atlas America with the Patriot America and I just found that the second one you suggested does not cover Pre-existing condition and could you please clear this option how much is important, because I would like to visit doctor about my mom's blood pressure problem that she got when had flight to Boston. Please suggest me a appropriate option to see doctor and check up her situation. Thank you so much. Best regards,

A:
Unfortunately there is no plan that covers routine dr. visit for the pre-existing conditions. Neither Atlas America nor Patriot America. Atlas America covers pre-ex only in case of acute onset of pre-ex upto $15,000 underage 70. Patriot America does not cover any pre-ex conditions.

I will arrive at August 26 and will departure at December 23. Therefore I am looking for a suitable health insurance so that I can waive the universities insurance plan. In order to do so, I need to know, whether you do offer an insurance plan that meets the following criteria: Alternate insurance plans must be provided by a company licensed to do business in the United States, with a U.S. claims payment office and a U. S. Phone number.Company must have a process to remit claim costs to providers within the US. Alternate insurance plans must provide coverage for both in-patient and out-patient medical care in the Philadelphia area, including but not limited to routine care, specialist office visits, diagnostic testing, imaging and physical therapy. Alternate insurance plans must provide for both in-patient and out-patient mental health care in the Philadelphia area. Alternate insurance plans may not limit coverage to just Emergency or Urgent medical or mental health care in the Philadelphia area. Alternate insurance plans may not exclude coverage for the following: o Pre-existing conditions (or the plan must have been in effect long enough that any waiting period has passed). o Conditions related to depression, eating disorders, suicide attempts or counseling, and drug or alcohol counseling/treatment. o Congenital and non-congenital medical or mental health conditions. o Sports injuries, alcohol-related injuries or conditions, pregnancies, eating disorders. Alternate insurance plans must offer a lifetime maximum benefit of at least $500,000 in coverage for each service. I would be very happy if you would do so. Please let me know whether you can offer me a suitable insurance-plan or not. Since this matter is quite urgent, I would appreciate if you could come back to me soon. Thank you very much. Sincerely,

A:
There is no plan that will cover suicide attempts. You need to purchase insurance from your school.

Q:Regarding Visitor's medical insurance Hi, I am planning to by Visitor's medical insurance for non-US Citizens(Parents are visiting USA), Can you please send me more information on the following: 1. Coinsurance (Does the amount vary based on deductible) 2. How deductible works. 3. List of hospitals and physicians in Preferred Provider Organization Network Thank you

A:
Hello, 1. Coinsurance is not dependent upon deductible. 2. The deductible is what you pay before the plans pays anything. This may per incident, per period of coverage, or annual depending on the plan. 3. This is plan specific. There will be a link to the provider search when doing a quote on www.insubuy.com Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thank you for the use full Information and it is really helpfull, Before i buy insurance i need to clarify couple of points as mentioned below.. 1. Say insured person who undergone some surgery 2-3 years ago and if he/she had a problem and requires medical attention (minor or major) will the insurance company covers it or not?.. 2. If he/she visits the doctor and if paid in full because insurance doesn't cover problem, then will that amount be incurred into the deductible. In the sense, say I had a problem and had to pay full ($200.00) to the doctor and I have a deductible of $2500.00. Then the amount that I paid will be deducted from the $2500.00 or not? 3. Can you suggest a good plan or tell what are plans you provide.. Thank you You can purchase Atlas America plan. Atlas America brochure, instant purchase and other useful information, /atlasamerica-insurance/ In order to further advise on benefits we would like to get Visitors age.
