Q:Health insurance for visitors to USA: Pre-Existing Conditions I will be visiting Hawaii in August for 14 days and would like some advise on policies available to cover me as I had a mild heart attack in 2010 when they inserted 2 stents and have had no problems since. I was also diagnosed with crohns disease in 2009 but have had no hospital admittance or bowel obstruction issues and both these conditions are well controlled with current medications. I travel on a British passport but reside in New Zealand and am 61 years old at present ( birthday due in 15 days) and have never smoked. If you can also advise what you would consider a policy cover amount required should I need hospital treatment as I am unaware of the average costs of medical treatment in the USA but have heard it can be expensive Thanks for your time

A:
We have many plans for visitors to the US at www.insubuy.com where you can enter the required information and see all the available plans. I would recommend a plan called Atlas America. Since there are no plans on the market that will cover a pre-existing condition, the Atlas America plan will cover an Acute Onset of a pre-existing condition. Here is the brochure and instant purchase link for the Atlas America plan: /atlasamerica-insurance/ More information can be found here regarding the Acute Onset benefit: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Please feel free to contact our office if you would like additional information or have any additional questions.

Q:Pregnancy complication insurance: US citizen living abroad Hello, I'm a US citizen, living in Argentina and planning a trip back to the US at the end of this month. I'm pregnant and looking for a plan that will cover unexpected medical emergencies (NOT to give birth in the US). My trip is planned for dates that are between week 24 and 27 of my pregnancy (date based on beginning of my last menstrual cycle). Can you tell me what plan might work for me and details on cost, benefits, etc., please? Thank you.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. There is a plan called Safe Travels USA Cost Saver that is available to a U.S. Citizen visiting within the United States. This plan will cover any new accidents and new illnesses that occur after the effective date of the policy. This plan will also offer coverage for pregnancy complications, This benefit will be in the amount of $1,000 per policy period. Please read the FAQ for more information about pregnancy complications. See the link listed below to the plan and to generate a quote. Please feel free to contact our office for further assistance. Pregnancy Complication FAQ: /us-visitor-insurance-for-pregnancy-coverage/ Safe Travels USA Cost Saver brochure & instant purchase link: /safe-travels-usa-cost-saver-insurance/ Thank you very much for your reply. I'm wondering if I can only go to certain health care providers. I'm planning on visiting Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Delta County area in Colorado. Can you tell me whether it would be easy for me to find providers that are eligible in these areas? And, what happens if there aren't providers recognized by Insubuy where I'm traveling? The Safe Travels USA Cost Saver plan is available anywhere outside of your home country. The plan will cover you anywhere in the United States. The Coventry / First Health PPO network is a very large network that generally has providers all over the US, you can do a search for providers here /safe-travels-ppo-network/ . If you are unable to find a provider then the plan will still pay 80% up to the first $5000 then 100% to the policy max. You will still be covered in or out of the network for any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date of the policy.

Q:Maternity Interest Hi, I am interested in getting an insurance that could cover as much maternity as possible, my situation is the following: I do NOT have US nationality. I have Spain nationality (Europe) where I currently reside and live. I would be interested to have a maternity covered insurance in the US so if I get pregnant I could go on my 7th month of my pregnancy, as a visitor/tourist to the US, where I have family, to stay and wait to deliver my baby over there. I currently have an insurance called IMG which covered my first pregnancy in the US and at the moment I am looking at other insurance options before I renew my current one. 1. Which plan will I be eligible for my situation (Spain nationality delivering in the US as a visitor) that would covers the most for maternity in the US? 2. How much do you cover for maternity? 3. Do I have to add up any rider or does the insurance itself already include maternity? 4. What are the deductible amounts? 5. Is there a maternity waiting period? what is it? 6. Does the plan include also any checkups, ultrasounds, appointments, lactation or any other tests related etc before AND after the baby delivery? 7. Does the plan include c-sections or any other complications that the delivery or pregnancy may have? 8. Does the plan include any emergencies (if necessary) for the baby after the birth? For how many days/weeks? 9. What about a pediatrician for the baby first weeks of live? Would that be covered? 10. Does my previous current insurance maternity expenses from my first baby add up and count in your plans or do I start as a right new member with you and have the full amount you offer covered? 11. Which hospitals and clinics does your maternity plan cover in the US? My age: 32 (I will be 33 in September) Date of Birth: Sept. 29th, 1983 Nationality: Spain Gender: Female Currently mom of 1 baby I have a chronic rheumatology disease called Ankylosis Spondylitis but the insurance I am looking for does not necessary have to cover anything related to it as maternity is what I am interested on. In any case please also inform me on this.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Unfortunately, there is no plan that exist to cover maternity for a visitor in the United States. This will be and expense that will be paid for completely out of pocket.

Q:U.S. Address or Permanent Residence for Address for visitor medical insurance While filling out the form for medical insurance for parents, do you expect the U.S. address where the parents will be staying in the US for their trip? Or is their permanent home address outside the U.S. expected in the form?

The address you use will depend on the plan you are purchasing, most plans do prefer the address in the US where the visitors will be staying. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact our office.
