Q:I am an international student currently pursuing a PhD at Louisiana State University (LSU). I have just completed the first year of my program under my University's health insurance but today I purchased ExchangeGuard Choice through your website, to replace the LSU one for the summer. I am going through the process of filing an online waiver for the LSU insurance and I'm being asked to input "Insurance Agent Name", "Insurance Agent Address" and "Insurance Agent Phone Number". I don't have any of this information since I have purchased my new insurance through Insubuy online, and I was wondering if you could help me with this.

A:
If you would, please provide your certificate number and a copy of the waiver form in the attached and we can fill out that information for you.

Q:My husband has follicular lymphoma I am assuming he will not be covered under the pre existing coverage guideline but can you verify

A:
Please be advised that all the visitor policies on the market are meant to cover the new things that manifest after the effective date. They will not cover any pre-existing conditions, preventative care or routine maintenance. The only way something related to a pre-existing condition would have the possibility of coverage would be under the acute onset benefit With regards to your specific situation it is important to note that any type of treatment for cancer or anything related to lymphoma is explicitly excluded under all plans on the market. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance please feel free to contact our office and any of our licensed representatives would gladly assist you.

Q:Searching for insurance for my parents, aged 78 and 81 who'll be visiting me in Michigan, US this July for about 6 weeks

A:
There are two types of Visitors Insurance plans available, either Fixed or Comprehensive coverage plans. The fixed coverage plans will pay a fixed amount according to the schedule of benefits once the deductible has been met. The comprehensive plans will pay a percentage of the overall cost once the deductible has been met. Based on the information provided below we would recommend the Atlas America for the individual that is 78, and the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan for the insured age 81.

Q:I am interested in the insurance "ExchangeGuard Choice". However, I got a problem when I tried to purchase it. I am holding J-1 visa and currently in the US. I have a new born baby recently. When I tried to add him into this plan, I got an error message. It reads "The Citizenship country United States is not allowed for the plan. Please choose an alternate plan on this website or contact us for further assistance." It is because I chose 'US' as the citizenship contry for my new born child. Is it true that this plan is not available for the new born baby in the US?

A:
That is correct. Your child is not eligible for the plan.

Q:Hello, I am very concerned about the reviews online concerning your plans. Most of them seem to run into trouble with getting their claims processed. How can I make sure my claim will be processed?

A:
All plans will pay legitimate claims. Short term plans that are available on the market do not cover pre-existing conditions. In our experience the denied claims are for existing conditions and would not be covered under any plan. Please see the links for more information /visitors-insurance-claim-dissatisfaction/ and /claims-procedure-faq-travel-medical-insurance/ If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.
