Q:Hi, will it be possible and how easy will it be if we have to change the coverage start and end date in case we have to? Say the departure date is moved due to visa processing being delayed or due to Covid or else?

A:
Typically before the effective date of a policy you are able to make changes to the policy such as coverage dates, policy max and deductible. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance please let us know. You may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:Hello, I am from India and will be visiting the US for 6 months.I read the wording of the Patriot (img) plus policy. They say that covid is covered only if I am INFECTED after effective date.If I am infected with the delta variant during my flight, the disease comes on fast and severe. US doctors may determine that I was infected before I took the flight and therefore not pay for the medical expenses.I am happy to take a policy that will cover covid as long as they stipulate that new medical symptoms arise after effective date, but do not mandate that the infection should also have occurred after effective date.Is there any such policy? My trip is to start in about 18 days.Thank you

A:
Unfortunately, there is no such plan. All the plans that include the coverage for COVID-19 will have some sort of wording associated with what you have described. The infection must occur after the effective date. If it is proven that the infection were to begin prior to the effective date, it would not be covered as the plans only allow the coverage for new illnesses and injuries that are contracted after the effective date. Should you have additional questions please let us know. You may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:If I buy insurance and test positive for coronovirus while overseas will the insurance cover the cost of my extended stay for the required quarantine? I am fully vaccinated but concerned about false positive tests.

A:
This is dependent on they insurance you plan on purchasing. There are a few plans that could offer such coverage which can be found in the COVID-19 Quarantine Coverage section of our website. Keep in mind that it will be determined at the time of the claim if the new illness were to meet the necessary requirements in the policy certificate wording. Should you have additional questions please let us know. You may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:Are any kind of illnesses covered?

A:
The plans will cover the new illnesses and injuries that are contracted in the body after the effective date of the policy. It is determined at the time of service based on the attending physician notes and lab results as per the certificate wording of the policy if the new illness or injury is an eligible expense.
