Q:Visa letter for Schengen travel insurance Hello, I am a college student in Arkansas from Lima,Peru. I'm looking an insurance for my trip to France (June-August), I need a letter from the insurance company for my schengen Visa. Do you provide that? I was looking for a price quote and there is an option about the home country departure, I don't know what to put there, because I've a I20 Visa, but I am resident from Peru. What about the deductible? what is that? Let me know as soon as possible, Thank you

A:
1. Visa letter Yes, we provide the Schengen visa insurance for trip to France. 15 minutes after your purchase the insurance (such as Atlas International), you can download it online from /myaccount/ 2. Home country departure date. Just write the date you would like to start the insurance. That means, the day in June when you depart for France. 3. Deductible Deductible is the amount you have to pay first before insurance company pays anything, in case you get sick or injured. You can make an instant purchase online of Schengen visa insurance at /schengen-visa-insurance/ Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hello, About the "home country departure" , there are options like "yet to depart" ,"departed within last 1 month", what should I put, if I am currently in USA and I am resident of Peru. And about the method of payment, can I pay with a VISA credit card from Peru? Thank you, 1. It does not matter if you are below 65 years of age. 2. Yes. By the way the requirement of the insurance for my visa, its that I should have at least $37 000 during my stay in europe for any medical and rapartriation expenses. I am looking for the policy maximum $50 000 , is that right? Thanks That's right. The actual requirement is 30,000 Euro. At one point that used to be equal to 37,000 USD. But now 30,000 Euro is around 48,500 USD. Therefore, 50,000 USD is correct.

Q:Schengen Visa Insurance for Italy Dear Sir/Madam, I have a few questions about securing medical insurance to satisfy the Schengen visa requirements. My wife and I (both aged 56) will be in Italy from 8/29/08 to 5/13/09, where I will be on a study sabbatical. We will continue our US insurance through BC/BS of New Mexico during our time abroad. * What would be the best option for us in terms of supplemental insurance while we are in Italy? * Can we be assured that occasional visits back to the USA during this period, perhaps longer than 15 days, would not terminate your insurance coverage (we would be covered under our existing policy during the time on American soil)? Thanks!

A:
You can find Schengen visa insurance at /schengen-travel-insurance/ All of the plans listed above meet schengen visa requirements. Atlas International is the best from all of them. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you for your reply. I agree that Atlas International seems the best of the lot. I understand that the Atlas policy will remain in force through the specified period if, for instance, my wife were to come back to the USA for a month at Christmas during which she would be covered by our existing U.S. policy which we intend to keep active. As long as you had paid the premiums for the entire duration, your policy would remain active.

Q:Insurance for Schengen Countries visit Hi We are Singapore Permanent Residents with Indian passports. My son and I plan to travel to Europe on a coach tour using the services of a tour operator in India and we plan to take the trip from Mumbai to Paris, finishing in Holland and taking the ferry to the UK. We have already been given a visa for the UK. The trip starts on April 16th from Singapore and ends on May 26th in Singapore and the itinerary is as follows: SINGAPORE > DELHI > MUMBAI > FRANCE > ITALY > THE VATICAN > AUSTRIA > SWITZERLAND > GERMANY > HOLLAND > UK > DELHI > KOLKATA > SINGAPORE. The requirement of Schengen visa at Embassy of France clearly states: "A letter from your insurance company (+ 1 copy) stating that you will be covered for any medical expenses, hospitalization and repatriation costs incurred for at least S$60,000 during your stay in Europe. If your current insurance company does not provide such a coverage, you have to find an international insurance company that does so (do not forget to ask for the letter mentioned above). WARNING: Failure to provide this document with this exact wording will delay the granting of the visa." Our tour operator in India has already charged us for health insurance but we suspect that the requirements being slightly different in India the above exact requirement of the embassy in Singapore may not have been met. Question 1: Are you in a position to provide such a coverage only for Schengen States for us being residents of Singapore? Question 2: Can you provide a cover letter as required by the French embassy? Question 3: What information is needed to buy the insurance? What documentation would you need from us? Would scan copies of such documentation help? Question 4: Would an air ticket or airline ticket number or reservation number be needed for buying this insurance at this stage? Presently we only have an itinerary. Question 5: What would the broad terms and geographical limits of the coverage be? Question 6: Would the internet signed document and cover letter suffice for embassy purposes or would we need the original? Would appreciate an early response by tonight if possible. Thanks

A:
1. We certainly have travel medical insurance that meets all the requirements of Schengen visa. We do a lot of business daily for travelers to Schengen states. In fact, we have a Schengen visa category on our web site. Look at /schengen-visa-insurance/ Particularly, look at Altas International at /atlas-international-insurance/ 2. Yes You can download and print around 15 minutes after the purchase at /travel-and-student-insurance-visa-letter/ 3. No documentations are required. Name, date of birth, passport number, address, phone number, email address, credit card. 4. No 5. It will cover anywhere outside home country (Singapore) and outside the US. More details at /atlas-international/travel-health-insurance/ 6. No, you don't need original. You can download the document signed by the officer from the web site at /travel-and-student-insurance-visa-letter/ Please let me know if you have any other questions. Great! Just two more questions: 1- In case there is a change of travel dates, will the insurance get adjusted accordingly? 2- What is the scope of the cover? The requirement is S$60,000. We intend applying for the visa on 4th Mar 08 at the Embassy of France in Singapore. So the documents are needed before that. 1. Yes. 2. We sell in US dollars. And US$50,000 meets the requirements. (Original requirement is 30,000 Euros). And the scope of cover being? eg air travel, hospital, accident... Medical expenses, evacuation expenses, repatriation of remains expenses etc. Look into the brochure at /atlas-international-insurance/

Q:any advantage for Green Card holders? My parents are currently not GC holders. But if they become GC holders, and live for some months in India, and some months in USA, from Medical Insurance point of view, is there any advantages/disadvantages? Would they be eligible for getting insurance from "regular health insurance" companies in USA like Aetna, or United Healthcare etc that employer companies in USA provide to their employees?

A:
Please read /new-immigrant-insurance/ If they are coming here for a short duration, they just have to buy Patriot America (NOT eligible for Atlas America if they have greencard).
