Q:I am a UK resident with settled status and have US citizenship. I am going to the US for a trip from the 1st-23rd July 2022 and would like to purchase travel health insurance. Is there a reason why I couldn't buy travel health insurance due to my American Citizenship?

A:
There are only a few options available to United States citizens visiting the US. Typically the recommended plan is Patriot America Plus for United States citizens who permanently reside outside the United States. Please review the geographic restrictions and plan benefits for full information on eligibility and benefits. You may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:I have some question about my partner who is traveling in the USA on a B2 Visa. Unfortunately, he went to hospital because of a concussion so he got medical care for a day. However, he didn't have any private health insurance. We are waiting for billing from the hospital. I want to know if he has to pay by cash for his treatment and if there is any way to get financial protection after accidents?

A:
Unfortunately, the plans will not offer coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative or routine care. You will have to pay for the expenses related to what has occurred out of pocket. There is not a product that can offer coverage for something that has already occurred. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance, please let us know. You may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:What does it mean by covering of Acute onset of preexisting condition by Safe Travels USA Comprehensive. Eg, if a person has high blood pressure and taking medicine from their country, if they get some issue due to that condition in USA is it covered or not ?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. You may purchase Visitors Insurance, but keep in mind that visitors insurance plans are designed to primarily cover someone for new illnesses, injuries or accidents that manifest or occur after the effective date of the policy. They are not designed to cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctors visits or preventative treatments, but some plans will include coverage for acute onset of pre-existing conditions. The final determination as to whether or not the medical situation is covered under the policy is made by the claims department using the attending physicians statement, and medical records that are generated at the time of the incident. If you have any additional questions, please let us know. You may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.
