Q:Immigrant Elderly parents Health Insurance Hi. I have sponsored my parents USA immigration and they have been issued immigration status since 03/2006. My parents are aged 65 and 70 yrs and they are pretty healthy and reside with me in Colorado. My father tried looking for job, but nothing worked out. I am fully supporting them, except for health insurance needs since I am unable to find one. 1. Since I gave signed affidavit of support to INS I-864 , what are my risks if they end up with emergency health problem care and hopsital bills may run in $1000's? Will hopsital come after me and puts me at risk of bankcrupcy? Under INS I-864, are there any exclusions for emergency health care need? 2. Since they have not worked in USA, can they still qualify to buy Medicaire? 3. What are my options in terms of private buying them health insurance under immigrant status, althoguth most in my state says they are not eligle for coverage? 4. ? Medicaide eligibility Any input or guidance will be appreciated. Thx Jatinder

A:
I already answered your questions. Thx for your reply. When I go to your webpage, I can't get any info regarding your "Bridge" plan. Pls. guide further. Thx Jatinder ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Yes, you can completely liable. Read Part 8 on page 17 at https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864-pc.pdf 2. If they are above 65, and after they have stayed in US for 5 years as green card holder, they can purhcase Medicare. That is exactly why the bridge plan exists. That is a 'bridge' between now and the time the person is eligible for Medicare. 3. Look at the products listed at /new-immigrant-insurance/ 4. Look at answer #2. Please feel free to post here or contact us at (866) INSU-BUY if you have any further questions. __________________ Thanks & Regards Bridge plan is located at /new-immigrants-health-insurance/

Can anyone tell me their experiences about their health insurance wrt this region? A friend of mine praised SRI, but he lives in NJ. Also keep in mind my mom's health conditions. Thanks.

It does not matter whether the person is visiting MA or NJ. Visitors insurance are for visitors to USA and person may tour around the country such as Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Disney Land, Statue of Liberty and visitors insurance will cover in all of those places.

Q:Insurance for pre-existing conditions To Whom It May Concern, I would like to know about the benefits of your company, I am currently residing in the United Kingdom with my husband and we do plan on moving back to America. I am looking at lots of different health care plans and comparing them I need a specific one that will take care of my husband's needs he has a medical condition which is ulcerative colitis and as a result of that he has a permanent illostemy. He needs to know some information: Does your insurance allow you to choose your own doctors? What ostomy equipment is covered? Can you choose where to buy supplies? Will your coverage be limited or even denied if you have a pre-existing condition? Which insurance do you suggest will be best for our situation? I will be awaiting a response soon, thank you for your time and attention to this matter. A:
In this situation, unfortunately, there is no insurance plan from any company that will cover your husband's pre-existing conditions. All the plans will exclude that. If you look into any domestic plans such as Blue Cross, Assurant(Fortis), Golden Rule, Unicare etc, they will NOT insure him at all as he is not US resident. Most companies require persons to be US residents, some require green card, need person to be staying in US for at least 1 year. They will still not cover pre-existing conditions. Some will decline insurance all together. But with us, we specialize in insurance for people who are non US citizens, just like your husband. It will cover any new medical conditions that may occur after insurance is effective. I would suggest one of 2 plans: Protection America: /patriot-america-lite/visitor-insurance/ Can be purchased for $50,000, $100,000, $500,000 and $1,000,000 policy maximums. If he gets sick, first you have to pay annual decutible (such as $100, $250, $500,...) After that insurance company pay 80% for first $5,000 and after that, it pays 100% up to policy maximum. Also, or you can consider buying Global Medical Insurance: /global-medical-insurance/international-health-insurance/ $5,000,000 If he gets sick, first you have to pay annual decutible(such as $250, $500,...) After that insurance company pays 100% as long as visiting Dr. in the network. Othewise, 80/20 for first $5,000 and after that 100%. Both the plans are PPO and participate in First Health PPO network which is a very wide network all across US. /international-medical-ppo-network/ You can review the details of the plan online and make instant purchase online.

Q:Domestic health insurance before moving to US Hi, I am planning to migrate to US in next teo years, pls advise if I want to have the US health insurance NOW so I can start to building relationship with them while I am still living in overseas now. Rgds,

A:
You can't purchase US domestic health insurance until you have moved to the US. You can start international health insurance now, but that won't help you much when you start living in US. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
