Q:dependent child coverage for recent hospitalization hi, I am a non-us citizen but my child is a u.s citizen, he was just discharged before thanksgiving. is the an insurance plan I can buy to cover these.

A:
Unfortunately, there is no insurance plan available to cover the hospitalization that already occurred. That would be a pure loss for any insurance company as they would simply be giving away the money.

Q:HCCIMS Clain Processing - Long delays in claim and delayed response. Frustrated I bought the insurance from insubuy for my in-laws. My mother-in-law is still in her 40s and is a pretty healthy woman. Unfortunately, we had to admit her in ER once. We took the ambulance and with good care from the ER doctors, she was discharged after being in ER for 12 hours. While this was a emotionally stressful experience, what followed with HCCIMS claim processing made it even more stressful. May - treatment received in ER May to July - No update from HCCIMS July - Personally called their toll free no and the agent asked to submit claimant statement authorization form. To my surprise, I received a letter by mail asking for the same the next week while there was no communication before that. July - sends a letter to submit claimant statement and authorization form Here is the key information.. everytime you send a communication or new information (even a small letter), they take 45 days to even tell you what is missing! That's their SLA!! Aug - Hospital sends bill to us stating that the insurance had rejected the claims!. I called HCCIMS and they mentioned that the claim is still under review and asked me to call and update the hospital. Aug - I called the hospital and explained the same. they adjusted the follow up date to another month Aug end - Called HCCIMS again.. representative again said their norm is 30-45 days and only after that they will inform. this time I was really hoping something. To avoid further delays, I got medical records of my mother in law from india and mailed it. Sep - called HCCIMS again. they said they are processing the new information. Again 45 days SLA !! Sep to Oct - called HCCIMS. No reply. they just said claims are under review OCT first week - they sent a letter stating that they asked the providers (US hospital) to mail all medical records for my mother in law since 2012. They denied it stating that the hospital didn't send it back. I was surprised and wasn't even updated while the claim was with them for the last 60 days OCT first week - I immediately took my mother in law and asked her to provide authorization to release her records from hospital to insurance company. I also got a copy and we mailed it. ... even now.. NO RESPONSE from them. It is all under review. Now, hospital is behind us for the bills and are saying that they have to give it to a collection agency if we don't respond. More than the emotional trauma, the claim process is frustrating. the toll free no is a waste. You won't get any other info on the claim other than what is in HCCIMS site. Compared to regular US health insurance companies, HCCIMS claim processing is frustrating. I've come to a point where I don't have any intention to buy visitor insurance in future.

Q:J1 insurance comparison hi, i need an insurance plan that meets the J1 visa requirements. i have checked the list of the insurance palns you suggest and the inbound Usa seems to be the most attractive, because it is cheap, you can set the deductible to zero and it seems to have no co-insurance. what are the difference with for example the patriot exchange program or the student secure? can you give me examples of some scenario in which the inbound usa it is not good? Thank you

A:
Inbound USA is a fixed coverage plan. It only pays a fixed amount for each and every procedure and you pay the difference. Please read /visitors-insurance/ /visitors-insurance-risks-of-purchasing-fixed-coverage/

Q:Insurance inquiry I have a question please, Iam from Egypt and will travel to USA after 4 months and I need personal health insurance for about 6 months, but I will go to more than one state, will this insurance cover these states ( PA, TX, KY )? and they are asking about the state in the application, which state shall I mention ? they are asking about the address there, why ? I don't have there so far as I will travel after a while. will I a proof of this insurance after purchasing ? and how ? - - - Updated - - - and which company will be the best for me ?

A:
Insurance is for visitors to USA is meant to cover everywhere in the US, and is not specific to any particular state. Some states have specific rules for purchasing if you are already physically present in that state or if you are going to put that state as the mailing address. Please look at Atlas America at /atlasamerica-insurance/ In that plan, you can put any address you like, whether it is in the US or in Egypt or anywhere else. As soon as you make a purchase, you will get the insurance ID card and the policy in the email. It will also be sent by the postal mail to the mailing address you specified on the next business day. As the postal mail is more reliable in the US compared to some other countries, it is advisable to put the US address but you can put any address you like.

Q:Insurance claim is not being processed Hi, I had Atlas America Health insurance. I visited a Urgent care center on 5/22/2014. As I am not aware that i have to send a pre-auth form after the treatment date and i didn't receive any email asking about it from the insurance company, i didn't send the pre-auth form immediately to the insurance company. The insurance company has closed the claim stating the same reason after 3 months. After i learnt the reason from the hospital, i have sent the pre-auth form to the insurance company multiple times and i have also received the confirmation from them through email. I have called the company thrice to request them to reopen the claim. They have said that they are going to put a request and my claim will be reopened in 3-4 days. But every time I call them they say the same old story that it has not been reopened and they will reopen it in 3-4 days. Despite my continuous efforts, the claim has never been reopened and i had to pay the amount to the hospital. Please let me know what is it that i could do to make it processed. Thanks, Vinay
