Q:I see that quarantine is covered under trip delay coverage. I wonder if the coverage extends past the specified end travel date? If the quarantine causes you to miss the return flight home will coverage pay for the accommodations after the return date on the policy?

Quarantine is a named peril under the Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption and Trip Delay benefits in the Safe Travels Voyager and Safe Travels Explorer plans. Quarantine is defined as "Your strict isolation imposed by a Government authority or Physician to prevent the spread of disease. An embargo preventing You from entering a country is not a Quarantine." If you become sick while on your trip (COVID-19 is treated as any other illness), your policy may provide benefits under Trip Interruption, Sickness Medical, Emergency Medical Evacuation or Trip Delay Trip Delay provides benefits if someone is delayed due to being quarantined, and will provide coverage for reasonable additional expenses such as lodging, up to the maximum benefit amount.
