Q:Going to school in France My daughter is going to school in France this fall. Though she is registered for one term, she may be staying for two. Can we buy insurance for the whole trip, which would be 9/06 to 5/06? Also, we will most likely be changing her return day - possibly to 7/07. Is this covered by the policy?

A:
I assume you want to buy travel health insurance. In that case, you can purchase Protection America for any duration you like, anywhere from 5 days to 3 years. And after initial period, you can renew the insurance for any duration from 5 days to 1 year at a time. If her trip gets extended from 5/07 to 7/07, you can just renew the insurance. You can make instant purchase online at https://www.insubuy.com If your question pertains to any other insurance product, please let me know so that I can answer accordingly. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks for that information. I was also wondering if the ticket insurance would apply to this as well. Trip cancellation insurance plans such as Patriot TRIP are primarily trip cancellation insurance and cover your non-refundable prepaid portion of your trip. In case you can't go to the trip for the covered reason, you get the money up to the trip cost back. There is not much medical coverage in trip cancellation insurance plans and coverage is only for 30 days. Please let me know if you have any other questions. One more question (at least for now!). Does the medical coverage include the US if we come home for a short time during an extended stay? Please look at 'Incidental home country coverage' and 'End of trip home country coverage' in the brochure at /patriot-america-lite/visitor-insurance/

Q:Need J1 visa insurance Hi, I need to purchase a minimum $100,000 for each illness or accident with a deductible $50 per illness, $10,000 for medical evacuation and $7,500 for repatriation of remains. Does your plan meet the above requirements? Besides, do I have to provide you medical history and examination form if I decide to purchase the health insurance from you?

A:
Please look at Visit USA-HealthCare at /j1-visa-health-insurance/ That would meet all the requirements you mentioned. No, you don't have to go through any medical examination before purchasing the insurance. You can just apply the insurance online. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hi, Thank you for prompt reply. Plan B meets the requirement. However, about the deductable, I cannot purchase exceed $50 per illness. Yours is $250 above. Do you offer $50 deductable? After purchasing the insurance, no any medical examination is required, either? Thanks! $50 deductible is NOT available. To the best of my knowledge, there is no J1 visa health insurance plan in the market that would provide $100,000/sickness AND have $50 deductible. Minimum is $250. However, that deductible is an annual deductible. It is NOT per illness deductible. No medical examination is required even after purchasing the insurance. The school requests J-2 holder to purchase health insurance as below. minimum $100,000 for each illness or accident with a deductible not to exceed $500 per illness Do you think in this statement, a deductable means per illness or annual? Thank you for all your answers to me. When this is clarified, I could go ahead to online purchase. That means $500 per illness. Therefore, if you get $500 annual deductible, that would meet the requirements. You can purchase Visit USA-HealthCare at /visit-usa-insurance/ It meets all those requirements. Sorry I rechek but actually the school requires $50 (but not $500) deductible per illness. Does your plan meet the requirement? No. I don't think there is any plan in US market that meets the requiement.

Q:Visitors Care only for visitors? I am looking for a short term (2.5 months) insurance for my wife and son from 4th July 2006. My wife and son are on H4 visa and in USA from 6th Jan 2006. I am planning to buy the 'Visitor Care IMG' plan for them with coverage for 25000. I have a query though that whether h4 visa holders can apply for a visitors visa ? Whether their status is 'Visitor' ? or do I have to choose some different plan ?

A:
Any non US citizen who is non immigrant in the US and want to purchase the insurance for short term can purchase 'Visitors Care'. It is not just limited to visitors (B2 visa holders). It is popularly referred to as visitors insurance because it is purchased mostly by visitors compared to anyone else. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks for your immediate reply. I need your help in selecting a plan for my family. Let me tell you my case in short - 1. I am on H1B since August 2005. I am staying in NJ ( 08830 ) 2. I am insured under oxford plan 3. My family my wife (29 yrs) and son (3 Yrs) joined me in Jan 2006 on H4. 4. While coming to US they had India based Insurance which is expiring today and I am looking for a temporary insurance for them for next 2.5 months. 5. I cannot add them to oxford till Sept 15th and hence need a short term Insurance My wife and son are both in good health just I don't want to take any risk since my son is ver young. Can you recommend me any particular insurance plan ? I figured out that there is only Visitor care plan offering fixed coverage for $25000. However I am not sure whether I should go with fixed or comprehensive plan. I read all review and comments by people on your site but still not very sure. I will go with what you recommend Best Regards You should go for comprehensive coverage plan. Fixed coverage plans are very limited and not recommended for young age people. Look at Protection America at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/
