Q:I am Indian and came to USA in Sep 2017 on J1 Visa and my university provided medical and repatriation insurance. Now I joined new institute and they provide only medical insurance whereas I need to buy medical evacuation and repatriation insurance. Being already present in the USA and not in my home country, am I eligible to buy medical evacuation and repatriation insurance while present in USA?

A:
We do have a Atlas MedEvac plan that you can purchase depending on the state you reside. You can check the Geographic restrictions to confirm eligibility in your state. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:My parents are on GC since 2013/2014. Doing 6 months stay every year when possible here in US. They will be eligible for Citizenship in 6 to 9 months. I have took atlas insurance until now but very recently came to know that it may not cover GC holders.

A:
As long as they are coming to the United States for a visit and are not eligible for Medicare they can purchase a plan called Patriot America Plus. This plan will cover the new accidents and new illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. You can see additional options here: Visiting with a Green Card insurance

Q:Hello, I am going to leave Switzerland (where I currently live) on 17.8.2018. I am officially de-registered from this date and will have no more health insurance, accident insurance or third party insurance. When I arrive in Spain my insurances will not be set up yet because I need to organise my paperwork before any of this can be organised. So I would like a temporary insurance that covers health, accident and third party for a couple of months to get me through this window of time. Can you offer me any insurance for this? I have seen your travel insurance option. Does this work for me? I am unsure whether it will work because my permanent address will no longer be in Switzerland. Many thanks

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The plans in the travel outside of USA section will be appropriate for your situation. You will still use your Switzerland address since that was your residence before leaving for Spain. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Could I get a refund for the previously purchased plan and buy a new one?

A:
Yes, you would send an email to cancel [at] insubuy.com and put your certificate number in the subject line. In the body of the email you will explain why you are needing to cancel. Since it's before your effective date you will receive a full refund.

Q:I need visa for parents who are in USA to visit me for 2 months. They arrived on June 7th and will leave on August 25th. They are on B1 visa from India and their ages are 65 and 61. They will be in California for most of the time but will also visit visit some other states.

A:
We have emailed the quotes for all of the available plans. The plans will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date so if there is anything already going on that would not be covered. Most of the plans do include coverage for an Acute Onset of a pre-existing condition for different amounts. We recommend you purchase a comprehensive plan since those plans will pay a percentage of the covered charges instead of a fixed amount /visitors-insurance-types/ If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.
