Q:I have purchased insubuy many times in past for short trips to the US. I have some question for my wife who has a green card for the US. We have purchased Patriot Plus before based on your recommendation. However, last time we visited we could not apply for this on the website. So last fall she purchased Safe Travels USA Cost Saver. She just came back to the US last week and she was going to purchase that again, but I read the policy carefully and it said green card holders were ineligible. Is there any plan she is eligible for? The situation is: 1) I work overseas 2) My wife and kids (two US citizens) came to the US at the end of August to try school, at least for 6 months but perhaps longer depending how they adjusted. 3) Either my wife or I have been abroad the whole time and are likely going back after the school year ends in the US 4) It is very difficult for us to purchase US domestic insurance because I work overseas and have two households/incomes. 5) I am going back overseas and my children are covered under my policy until March 1. How can I get insurance for all three of them through insubuy? I assume just buy two kids separately, and then my wife's separate from her? Kids have dual US-Korean citizenship. My wife has Korean citizenship and US green card. Sorry but the website was confusing and I want to make sure the coverage we buy is actually possible and will cover them in event of emergency.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Patriot America plus plan you can purchase for green card holder as long as their primary residence country is outside US. If they are moving to US permanently then you can enroll them under domestic insurance. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further clarification.

Q:I have a J1 visa working as a adjunct professor at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. My current travelinsurance will end 4/7/2019 but have extended my stay until 6/6/2019, i.e. 2 more months. I need an insurance during these 2 months and you seem to have some interesting offers. I am from Sweden and reside in Sweden but my 2 children (3 and 5 years old) have dual citizenship Swedish and USA and they reside in Sweden. Can I sign up for your insurances even if my children have dual citizenship? It says that I can't be USA citizen and sign for an insurance but not quite clear if the same rules apply to the dependents so I/we cant sign up for an insurance. We all arrived on the 28th of September 2018 and have an insurance (from our Swedish insurance company) until 7 april 2019 in line with our planned home trip. My stay has been extended by 2 months but our Swedish insurance company don't allow an extension once you have been outside Sweden more than 2 months (I don't know why)

A:
We do have plans that can cover you, as well as your children, however because of their dual citizenship, you will be on one plan and each child will have their own plan as well. This will not affect the pricing as the premiums are calculated as a daily rate based on age. The plan that the children can have, would be the Diplomat America plan. You will have to do a separate policy for each of them. For you, I have attached the link for our J1 plans that meet the minimum J1 requirements. If your university has additional requirements, you can email those to us for review. These plans will cover for all new illnesses and injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. The do not cover anything preventative, routine, or pre-existing.

Q:I am a Fulbright Visiting Scholar (J-1 visa holder) to University of Central Florida from Azerbaijan Republic. I want to buy health insurance plan for my wife for the period of 1 March - 30 August 2019. And my wife is 14-week pregnant (with expected childbirth date of late July). I would like to buy insurance plan that covers pregnancy and childbirth. Can you please give me information about a plan that covers pre-existing condition of pregnancy?

A:
You would need to check with your sponsor to see if your wife would be eligible for insurance through them that covers pregnancy because there is no plan that can be purchased outside of a domestic plan that will cover her for these charges since she is already pregnant.

Q:I'm a new student at University of Central Florida and I'll start my studies during the summer on May. As advised by the UCF, I would like to apply to your insurance plan for UCF students. Knowing that I'm 20 weeks pregnant, in the fifth month of pregnancy. I would love to know your insurance coverage plan, the price (the average cost ), Insurance Policy, Deductibles, Discounts, Basis of Claims Settlement, Exclusions and the percentage amount what I'll pay for. Knowing that it will include my husband and son.

A:
You will need to check with the university to see if you are eligible for the plan they offer since there is no plan you can purchase outside of a domestic plan that will cover your current pregnancy. You could purchase a separate plan for your husband and son if you would like but we would need to know if the university has any requirements that need to be met for them.
