Q:Coverage for Sports Insurance Dear Sir/Madam, I am from new zealand, looking for insurance coverage for a long distance triathlon race I am competing in in Sweden on the 27th of June this year. It is a 4km swim, 120km bike and 30km triathlon. I already have comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of my trip, however I have learnt this does not cover my participation in the race nor my training in the week leading up to the event for which cover is needed. I need to demonstrate to the international triathlon authority that I am covered in the event of accident during my training and the race. My period of training will be from the 20th of July to the 27th and the race is on the 27th. The international triathlon authority or ITU stipulates: As per section 2.6 of the ITU competition rules: 2.6. Insurance: a.) Each athlete competing in an ITU event must have personal insurance coverage, guaranteed by their NF. This insurance will cover: (i) Any accident occurring before, during and after any competition; (ii) Any sickness that an athlete could suffer during a trip to a competition or event; (iii) Liability caused by an athlete during the competition. b.) The athlete’s NF guarantees the existence of this insurance by entering an athlete in an event. LOCs or NFs organizing an event cannot force the athletes to pay for a race day fee for insurance purposes. I need coverage in regards to 2.6. a. i, and iii. Can you quote me for insurance for training during the week leading up to the race and for competing in the race. Thank you.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, there are no plans that will cover any organized, sanctioned events or practices. Any competitions are excluded from the policies, sports are only covered as leisure activities. If you need any further clarification please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I've just been on your website and had a quote for the Atlas insurance - I'm trying to find J2 insurance as my partner is already covered on her J1 Before proceeding to buy, would you be able to confirm that you would be able to sign the form that I require to progress with the visa - this is attached, and the summary of what's being agreed is below; medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness; repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000; expenses associated with medical evacuation from the United States to the participant's home country in the amount of $50,000; a deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness. The insurance policy must also be underwritten by an insurance corporation having an A.M. Best rating of A- or above, a Fitch Ratings, Inc. rating of "A-" or above; a Moody's Investor Services rating of "A3" or above, a Standard & Poor's Claims-paying Ability rating of A- or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above OR be backed by the full faith and credit of the government of the exchange visitor's home country. For full details please reference the Code of Federal Regulations (22 CFR Part 62). If your dependents will accompany you from the beginning of your J-1 training program, we recommend that you purchase Cultural Vistas' family insurance. Thanks for your help.

Q:What do I need put for beneficiary in the insurance application? What does Beneficiary for Primary Insured mean?

A:
Beneficiary: Person(s) designated by the insured(s) that would receive the proceeds of an insurance policy upon death of the insured. If you are applying for your parents, you should usually write your name. If you are applying for your in ¬laws, you should usually write your spouse's name. Please don't write the name that is already covered in the application. If you are applying for both parents, do not write your father's or mother's name in this field. Of course, you can name anyone you prefer as the beneficiary

Q:How will the providers determine if something is pre-existing or not? Hello, Thanks. I am aware of the fact that medical visits/medications etc. that are linked to pre-existing conditions will not be covered. However, especially in case of diabetes, any other ailment or condition can be directly or indirectly linked to diabetes. How will the insurance make a determination whether a visit or hospitalization was caused by diabetes only? Thanks

A:
The attending physician will provide a report to the claims department upon the filing of a claim. The claims department will refer to that report to determine if the claim if for something new or related to something pre-existing.

A:
1.Are we eligible for Visitors Inbound insurance from Seven Corners despite having preexisting conditions You are able to purchase plans though Seven Corners despite the pre-existing conditions. 2.How do we declare the preexisting conditions ? Is there a column prescribed in the application form. There is no need to declare your pre-existing conditions as the plans do not cover pre-existing conditions. 3 What is the amount of coverage for preexisting conditions? Seven Corners plans will cover what is called an acute Onset of a pre-existing condition. Please refer to the link below for more detail on Acute Onset coverage. Q:Insurance coverage premiums for different states? Can I issue policy e.g. with state NJercy and if insured stays at say Washington. And if there is claim while insured is in Washington - will claim still payable ?? . I observe premium in Washington is almost 40% more than NJercy. Pl revert back ASAP.

A:
Visitors insurance premiums do NOT vary by state. The rates are a daily rate determined by the insured person's age. Therefore there is no price difference on any of the plans state to state. If the age of the insured, dates of coverage, policy maximums and deductibles are the same, the cost would be the same. The plans cover anywhere outside either home country or country of citizenship and therefore what state they are located in if they become ill or injured makes no difference.
