Q:We are residents of France, be we are US citizens. We have lived outside the US for 20 years. We are traveling in the States this summer for a month. What is the name of the insurance plan that will cover us?

A:
We would be glad to assist. We do have a plan that can cover U.S. citizens visiting the U.S. who live outside the U.S., called Patriot America Plus. You can purchase Patriot America Plus All plans for visitors cover new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. There are no plans on the market for visitors that cover preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. Some plans do have what is called an Acute onset benefit that can provide coverage in certain emergency situations due to pre-existing conditions based on the definition of acute onset, as well as the attending physician's report. The above plan does include some acute onset benefits for ages 69 and younger. If you are above the age of 69, or do not want a plan that includes onset benefits, you could go with the Patriot America plan, instead of Patriot America Plus. You can purchase Patriot America Please let us know if you have any questions.

Q: I am here through a company called Camp Leaders I purchased their insurance as advised and upgraded as I have a peanut allergy. I always carry an Epipen at all times, that said I have had no need to use this in more than eight years and am always very vigilant around food. However now I am in the USA I have been informed that the insurance does not cover pre existing conditions and that my peanut allergy is considered pre existing. Can you offer any form of cover for my situation and advise of cost. I am 22 years old with no other health issues, I am in Pennsylvania until end August.

A:
