Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitor medical insurance. You have to first pay the deductible once before insurance company will pay anything, whether it is Dr. visit or hospitalization or anything else. It is the same procedure for everything. Person to be insured is yet to arrive in US. But is there anything more to be done if someone to be insured is in US within last ONE month. I understand beyond that some companies need prior insurance.

If the person is yet to arrive, no problem. If the person is in US and is 65+ years of age or older, he needs to buy insurance within 1 month of arrival of US or have prior coverage to buy any IMG insurance.

So within 1 month of arrival is as good as yet to arrive for 65+ right? Friend of mine wants to go for it. Arrival is within one month. Nothing extra to be done, right? Just like buying online for yet to arrive case, right? Thanks for your quick responses always!

1. Yes, yet to arrive is good for any age. 2. Yes, as long as eligible, the procedure is same. Additionally, in case of 65+ who is already in the US, you have to provide the name and expiration date of current insurance, if in US for more than 1 month.
