Question:

Hi,I saw that my policy has a well visit benefit. But it says it needs to be within 21 days of purchase. Now my policy is at 29 days and just renewed. Do I need to let the coverage lapse and buy new to get the regular health check up/well doctor visit benefit? If I do lapse the coverage to get the benefit, will this cause any problem(s)?

Answer:

The wellness visit benefit available in the Safe Travels USA Cost Saver plan. The benefit can allow up to $125 for the well visit as long as it follows the protocol and instructions listed. It would be recommended to continue your active coverage and pay out of pocket for the well visit if you are needing it. However, if you wish to cancel the coverage and repurchase, you may do so as well. Keep in mind the plans will only offer the coverage for the new illnesses and injuries that are contracted after the effective date. The plans exclude the coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. Should anything currently be going on and you were to cancel the coverage and repurchase, it would not allow coverage for the things going on under the current coverage.
