Expatriate Health Insurance

Question:

Renewal of insurance I purchased insurance for my husband and myself through you December last year. I am wantng to organise our insurance for next year, but would like to change some things. For example, we do not need outpatient insurance as the healthcare here is very cheap. Our major needs are hospital coverage, emergency evacuation and full birth coverage ( prenatal is very cheap here). The current premium is too high for us, is there anything you can offer. Regards

Answer:

There is no just inpatient plan. It covers both inpatient and outpatient. In order to reduce the premium, * You could choose higher deductible. * You could also choose the coverage excluding US/Canada. You can visit /expatriate-health-insurance/ and choose a plan most suitable to you. If you have any particular question or need any other help, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Could you tell me how much it would be if we were to exclude the US and Canada. My husband is now 32 and I am 29. Thanks a lot

You can look at International Citizen Premier at /expatriate-health-insurance/ Prices are Deductible - Annual Price $250 - $1687 $500 - $1537 $1000 - $1158 $2500 - $1025 $5000 - $891

I checked the website you sent but don't understand exactly how this works. Last year my coverage with RESIDE cost me $1300 and Dave's was $750, but this year for me it has increased by $800! I think that is ridiculous! Also if I take the premier rate, it excludes emergency evacuation and I have to wait another year before I am covered for pregnancy. If this is the case we will have to look for other options. We are missionaries in Cambodia who are self funded and don't have $3000 to spend on medical insurance . Are there any otehr options including emergency evacuation and pregnancy coverage.

I completely understand how exactly this works. Premium in the second year is more all such plans because it covers more things such as pregnancy etc. That is the case with all the plans. Yes, IC Premier excludes emergency evacuation. However, if you like, you can buy a separate evacuation plan such as Liaison Traveler, available at /trip-cancellation-insurance/ It is NOT very expensive. Even with this combination, you will have to wait for 1 more year for pregnancy. Otherwise, continuing the same insurance (RESIDE) would be your best option. Of course, you may look for other local options in Cambodia itself. But, you don't have any better options from US. We sell insurance products all major US companies that deal with international medical insurance. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
