Question:

I need a 3 week policy for my 76 year old father. He has a pace maker. He's healthy. What are my options?

Answer:

If your father is coming to the U.S. on a B2 visitor visa, you can find plans for him through this link:

/visitors-insurance/

The plans will cover for new illnesses and new injuries that are contracted after the effective date.

They do not cover for preventative care routine maintenance or pre-existing conditions with the exception of

acute onset of pre-existing condition benefits on some plans.

Here is some information about acute onset benefits:

For his age, a plan with acute onset benefits we could recommend would be this plan:

/atlasamerica-insurance/

The only plan we have that can provide some pre-existing condition coverage if the proposed insured

is fit to travel and not specifically coming to the U.S. for medical treatment is the Visitors Protect plan.

It can provide a $20,000 benefit for pre-existing conditions built into the plan and that has it's own $1500 deductible.

However, there is a minimum 90 day purchase for that plan. So even if you entered in the 3 weeks of dates, it would charge

you the premium for the 90 day minimum.
