Q:I'm planning to purchase travel Atlas Premium International insurance for Schengen countries. French consulate requires me to purchase an insurance in order to open Schengen Visa, but they have their own requirements to this Insurance plan. This insurance must be valid throughout the Member States territory in the Schengen area, which fully apply the provisions of the Schengen accord and for the duration of your stay. It must allow you to access services in the Schengen area. This insurance must also provide coverage of 30,000 euro minimum including medical repatriation, and emergency and or hospital treatment. Do you provide this letter for your clients?

A:
The Atlas Premium International plan will provide you with a visa letter that will list all of the requirements for a Schengen visa. You will receive this letter via email within 30 minutes of your purchase. If you need any additional assistance please contact our office.

Q:I am a Lebanese citizen and I have been living in the US for the last 4 years as an international PhD student. I am applying for the Schengen visa to go to France. I am not a US citizen and I am not considered a resident of the US, but all my mail goes to the US. Should I list Lebanon OR US as my place of Residence? Is my Residence address my permanent home in Lebanon OR my home in the US where I have currently been for years? And should I include US as my destination country (even though I am doing a round-trip flying out of US to France)?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. You will enter your home country as the United States. As you live here the coverage would exclude the U.S.

Q: I am looking for visitor insurance for my father who will be visiting us in December. He is almost 72 years old and has history of cardiac issues. I just want to make sure we are covered as much as we possibly can. Can you please suggest which plans will cover his pre-existing conditions and have good rapport in terms of coverage and claim handling?

A:
The plan that will offer you the most coverage for the Acute Onset of a pre-existing condition is the Atlas America plan. There is no plan on the market that will cover a pre-existing condition and only a couple of plans that include the Acute Onset benefit for someone over the age of 69. Please see the link below for more information on the Atlas America plan and another link for more information about the Acute Onset benefit: If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I needed to buy insurance, I am 46 years old and will be going next week for a left inguinal hernia repair and apparently it is a common surgical procedure but all the same, this will be a pre-existing condition, could you please elaborate if there is a policy available for me.

A:
This surgery would be considered as a pre-existing conditions as this is something that is needed prior to the purchase of your insurance policy so there would be no coverage in this case. The plans are designed to cover the new accidents and new illnesses that happen after the effective date of the policy. If you need any additional clarification please contact our office.

Q:My friend will be here to travel soon. She holds B1/B2 visa and want to check if you have any health insurance for visitors and cover the health examination as well?

A:
Unfortunately, there is not a plan that will cover the cost of preventative care for a visitor. If she would like to have a health checkup she will pay for this out of pocket. If you need any additional assistance please contact our office.
