Q:I'm inquiring about purchasing traveler's insurance coverage for my parents. Details are below: 1. My parents are both citizens of India, aged 71 and 66 years. 2. they arrived in the US on Jul 7, 2017 and will be staying here until Jan 3, 2018. 3. I would like to purchase a general coverage insurance for them starting now until Jan 3, 2018. My parents have not had any insurance up until this point. Due to my hectic schedule and a lot of work travel, I didn't end up arranging for insurance after their arrival. They are not currently in any need of visiting a provider but I just want them to have insurance for the rest of their visit simply as a precaution. Can you please let me know how to proceed and which options are available for them?

A:
Some plan you have to purchase within 30 days of arrival date in US or need to have any prior insurance. So your parents will not be eligible to purchase any of the plans from IMG. However, we have some plan that they will be eligible to purchase. You can purchase Atlas America plan for them. We have sent you quote in a separate e-mail. Please check your e-mail. Meantime, you can also visit our website, enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:My mom come to United States for around 5 months. I am looking for an insurance, which covers basic treatment such as flu. She also wants to do some physical examinations. Would you mind recommend an insurance, which is best for her needs?

A:
There is not a plan on the market that will cover preventative care such as flu shots or physical examinations for a visitor . The plans are designed to cover new accidents or illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. If there is a need (or want) to have any of these preventative services done this will be an expense paid for out of pocket. If you need any additional clarification please feel free to contact our office.
