Q:Insurance for scholar from China I am a visiting scholar from China to university of colorado at Boulder. My visa is J-1.Now I want to make sure that the insurance plan of Inbound USA can cover the requirement of boulder or not. The requirements of university of boulder for J-1 are the following: The policy must provide medical benefits of at least $50,000 for each accident or illness, according to the text of the regulations.  A deductible that is not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.  If you should die in the United States, the policy must provide at least $7,500 in benefits to send your remains to your home country for burial.  If, because of a serious illness or injury, you must be sent home on the advice of a doctor, the policy must pay up to $10,000 for the expenses of your travel.  The policy may establish a waiting period before it covers pre-existing conditions (health problems you had before you bought the insurance), as long as the waiting period is reasonable by current standards in the insurance industry.  The policy must be backed by the full faith and credit of your home country government or the company providing the insurance must meet minimum rating requirements established by USIA (an A. M. Best rating of A- or above, an insurance Solvency International, Ltd. (ISI) rating of A-i or above, a Standard & Poors Claims-paying Ability rating of A- or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above).

Q:Group exchange insurance We are an organisation based in Ukraine, founded in 1991 and fully devoted to international exchanges. We urgently looking for a new provider for our SWT students, as our old provider significantly delays cooperation. We are asking the for new agreement for 2013 season and tariffs since November. And all the time different reasons for delay. So we still have no it, while urgently need to provide insurance information to our Sponsor. Our Sponsor also can provide insurance, but it is too expensive for us, as we already finished recruitment for 2013 season and have all students paid fixed program fee (including insurance) based on last season insurance tariffs. We hoped it would be the same, as we didn't have in 2012 any serious insurance cases (only 2 times medicines purchase and no any hospitalizations or ambulances). So 40% higher sponsor's price is not affordable for us. Please suggest if we can agree cooperation and please suggest which tariffs you can offer us for a group of around 140 students under minimum DoS requirements.

On web page I read : For Work and Travel programs please contact your producer or IMG for rates. And this is what I interested about. Please suggest if you can assist us and provide special rates for Work&Travel group and not individuals. For us, as agency and not individual traveler. Sincerely, The rates I showed you are for groups and NOT for individuals. In any case, I will get you the Work and Travel Programs rates.

Q:GeoBlue Insurance quote With regard to my proposed Explorex Premier Elite Health Insurance, when you say "80 for the Coinsurance", do you mean I have to pay first the 20% before the Coinsurance pay for the 80%? Is New Jersey in my plan in the network? If I travel to California 3 months after I am covered by my plan in New Jersey, can California be considered in the network?

A:
The plan will pay 80% and you will pay 20%. This plan is available in both states so you would be covered in both places. Does my plan mean that I will always pay 20% of whatever is the hospitalization cost? Thank you for your interest in purchasing GeoBlue Xplorer Premier insurance. Please note that, within the U.S., within the PPO network, you will have to pay 20% and insurance company will pay 80%. However, once you have paid $2,000 out of your pocket in such manner, after that, the insurance company will pay 100% up to the policy maximum in eligible expenses. Please note that it is not that entire state of New Jersey or California is in the network. That is NOT how the PPO network works. Each individual hospital or the doctor chooses to be part of the PPO network or not. You can search for such provides in the area of your interest at /geo-blue-ppo-network/ You can get the complete information about GeoBlue Explorer plan at /expatriate-health-insurance/ You can also apply online on that web site. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Q:Parents visiting from Viet Nam Hi, I'm looking to buying insurance for my parents who will be traveling from Vietnam to US in March. I'm currently interested in Atlas Medical Insurance. However, there is a notice for California which makes me a little concern. Does it really apply since my parents are not California residents and if there are dispute, are they protected? Also, I saw the company has done many transactions with Indian. Since my parents coming from Vietnam, can they still buy and receive the same benefit? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors insurance for your parents. You can purchase Atlas America for anyone visiting the US from any country. It is not limited to a single country. Therefore, you can definitely purchase it for your visiting parents. Your parents are not residents of CA. Therefore, the notice you saw is not really applicable to them. Please read /travel-and-student-insurance-california-notice/ for more information. They are definitely protected for eligible expenses as per terms and conditions of the insurance. If they were not eligible, we would not be selling it to them. I hope that answers your questions. You can purchase Atlas America insurance online at /atlasamerica-insurance/ If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. Hi, I just purchased Atlas plan for my parents. Upon printing ID card, it says that my parents are required to pre-certify all hospitalizations and surgeries. So if my parents have emergency that need to go to the hospital, we have to ask for permission first? Please clarify that for me? Also, although I purchased my parents as the same time, they will separately receive the same benefit right? Thank you, 1. In case of an emergency, you have to call within 48 hours. Read /visitors-insurance-precertification-requirements/ 2. All benefits are person. Deductible is per person too. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Could you please let me know the cancellation policy for the insurance. If there are an emergency that my parents can not come to the U.S., do I get refunded ? Please look at the cancellation rule for Atlas America at /myaccount/ You can purchase it online at /atlasamerica-insurance/ If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
