Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The insurance plans available can be viewed in the Visitors to the USA section of our website. Make sure to select the coverage area of "International, including USA" to ensure you are covered for the duration of your travels. All the plans on the market are designed to offer medical coverage for new illnesses and injuries that are contracted after the effective date of the policy. They will exclude the coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. The providers also reserve the right to decide how they bill. If asked to pay out of pocket, you may file a claim for reimbursement according to the policy you have purchased for any eligible medical expense. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance, you may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:My dad is planning to travel from India to visit me in Chicago. he is on 2 times a week dialysis. what are his insurance options? how do i set up dialysis for him in chicago?

A:
Plans for visitors cover new illnesses and new injuires that occur, manifest, or are contracted after the effective date of the policy. They do not cover for things that are preventative, routine, or pre-existing. Some plans will provide benefits for acute onsets of pre-existing conditions, however, dialysis would not fall under an acute onset. Here is the information link regarding Acute onset benefits for you to review: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:My father is visiting USA in June 2022, and planning to stay for 2-3 months, he has the pre existing condition for diabetes, kidney stones. No other major health concerns. May I know what are the plan suitable, please provide available coverage details.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. Visitors Insurance plans are not designed to cover pre-existing conditions. They are primarily designed to cover new illness, injuries or accidents that manifest or occur after the effective date of the policy. Most plans will have a look-back period of either 2 or 3 years. So if there is any condition that the insured receives medical advise, diagnosis, care, treatment, or the condition manifested itself during that time period it is considered a pre-existing condition and not covered under Visitors Insurance. There are many plans that will include coverage for the acute onset of pre-existing conditions. An acute onset of pre-existing conditions is a sudden and unexpected recurrence of a pre-existing condition that is rapidly progressive, occurs spontaneously, and without advance warning and requires urgent care. In regards to the medical situations you have listed, as long as the situation is not a listed exclusion in the policy then it can be covered unless it is pre-existing as defined above. If it is pre-existing then the only type of coverage that is available for a visitor to the US is the acute onset of pre-existing condition. When purchasing you are not asked to provide any health or medical information. The claims department will make their final decision based on the medical records that are generated at the time of the incident and the attending physicians statement or doctors notes. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our office at +1 (866) INSUBUY 467-8289.
