Q:I live in Buffalo NY state and will be visiting England, France, Belgium and Spain in 2023, leaving the USA on January 13th and returning on May 25th. I am 74 years old female with a controlled heart condition. The visits will not include any cruises. I am looking for travel insurance but as the trip is a gift, medical and repatriation cover is the priority for cover ..... please advise

A:
You can find available Travel medical plans for traveling outside of the U.S. through this quote link: /travel-health-insurance/ However, the plans that we offer that can include some pre-existing condition coverage as long as someone is enrolled in a primary health plan in their home country, are not available to NY residents as you are not eligible for the plan if your mailing address is in NY. Therefore, the plans that would be available to you would cover for new illnesses that are contracted after the effective date or new injuries after the effective date of the policy. The plans will not provide coverage for preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. Some of the plans will provide an Acute onset of pre-existing conditions benefit or a Sudden and unexpected recurrence benefit. I have listed information links for those benefits below. /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ /sudden-and-unexpected-recurrence-of-pre-existing-conditions/ If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:How do i know if my insurance is active?

A:
You should have received your confirmation email which would show your selected dates of coverage. Coverage begins on the effective date for coverage expenses under the plan and expires on the selected expiration date. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:My sister who lives in Germany is coming back to the US for 3 months and i am looking for health insurance coverage here that pays the medical provider directly rather than just reimbursing the patient. Do you have a product like that for emergencies during travel by US citizen to the US?

A:
Payment and billing on any insurance plan is at the discretion of the provider. Often times direct billing is done for the patient as a courtesy however, the determination on how their business will receive monies for services rendered is up to them. There is not a plan that will guarantee direct payments.

Q:HiI am from Sri Lanka. I am traveling to U.S. and stay for 1 year on j1 research visa. J1 requires Medical benefits of at least 100,000 per accident or illness. just wanted to know does the Patriot America Plus plan have 100,000 per accident or illness?

A:
The Patriot America Plus plan has a policy maximum that is per period of coverage instead of per incident as is required for the J visa. This is why the plan isn't listed in our J Visa Insurance section. We recommend purchasing a plan from that section to ensure you satisfy all of the requirements. A few popular plan options that provide similar coverage and satisfy the J requirements are the ExchangeGuard, and Atlas America. You may view and purchase these plans online or obtain assistance over the phone by contacting our office at +1 (866) INSUBUY 467-8289.

Q:Good morning. I am a US citizen who lives and works in Greece. I will be visiting the US with my family which includes, my wife who is a Greek citizen and my son who was born in Greece but has a US passport. I want to make sure when I am purchasing travel health insurance that it will cover al three of us. My concern is that we have different nationalities. The first question is about our nationality and I am only able to select one nationality.

A:
You will need to purchase visitors insurance separately since the insureds will have different countries of citizenship. The premium cost is based on the ages of the insureds, and the travel dates so the overall cost for your family will remain the same. If you have any additional questions or need further help, please contact our office at +1 (866) INSUBUY 467-8289.
