Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. However, with the differing status upon you travel here into the U.S. There are plans that you be able to have a visitor into the united States that will not be available once you switch to a F1 visa holder. This plan will not cover any pre-existing conditions or preventative care for a visitor. The acute onset coverage included within the plan is in case of a life threating emergency. Please see the link listed below for more information about an acute onset. If you need any further clarification please feel free to contact our office. Acute Onset FAQ: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Thank you. Could you please advise about which plan should I buy to cover my daughter case? As I don't want to be at risk during my visit . Regards, With your current status as a visitor to the U.S. there are no plans on the market which would cover a pre-existing condition for a visitor with the exception of an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. Once you are on an F1 you may purchase a plan from the students section of our website which would cover pre-existing conditions but there will also be either a 6 or 12 month waiting period dependent upon which plan you select. F1/F2 visa insurance at, /international-student-medical-insurance/ You may also contact our office at (866) INSUBUY. If you have any additional questions please let us know. Just to conclude my understanding, my dependent children will not be covered from the pre-existing conditions during our stay, even if I got the F1 visa as they will have f2. If I am wrong, please redirect me to a specific insurance plan to buy it. Thanks In obtaining an F2 visa status you would be eligible for your Universities insurance which would typically be a domestic insurance and that would cover her condition. Or you would be eligible for student plan that will have 6-12 months waiting period for pre-existing conditions. Then there a limited to the coverage provided for the pre-existing condition. Please find student insurance at, /international-student-medical-insurance/

Q:Visitors insurance plan Hi, I am a New Zealand citizen and i'm coming to the US for 3 months. I have tried to search your website but am quite confused and would love some advice. A:

Q:Foreigners' insurance plan I was checking today out your website, and would appreciate receiving further information about insurance for foreigners, and your recommendation about what would be best for us. My parents want to start paying for insurance in the US, just to be careful and prepared in case of a medical emergency. The coverage would be for my parents (ages 51 and 46) and for my sister and I (ages 18 and 21), who are still dependents. We currently live in Mexico, and have adequate insurance here, and no preexisting conditions we would be interested in treating in the US, as it's so expensive. We also have social insurance in our country, Costa Rica. We would, however, like to be covered for things like cancer, which is something we've known of many people who go to the US to get treated for. Our current insurance does cover us when we visit the US, too, but I doubt it would allow us to go off to the US to get treated if we got severely ill. We just would like to have that option â€" to know that if we ran into something too complex for our healthcare system, and the US were better for it, we would be able to get treatment there. (In case it makes any difference, we do all have valid visas for the US). So: we would like something that would cover the harshest, most expensive things, but not really the "small" ones, like a dental plan or the like. Thank you for your time,

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. However, there is no such insurance that exist to cover this situation. Plans that are available to you as visitors in to the United States will cover for any new accident or new illness that occur after the effective date of the policy. Plans will not cover for treatment of preexisting conditions, medication nor any preventative care. If a visitor was to travel into the U.S. for any medical treatment that is needed this would be at that persons expense. If you need any further clarification please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Patriot America plus vs Atlas America Hi, I am looking for a visitors insurance, in dilemma between Patriot America plus & Atlas America. In Patriot America plus, if i take my mother for severe fever to urgent care(outpatient), should i pay the deductible(250 0r 500$)? or only the copay? and also the chances of billing directly in Atlas america? If chances are low, i need to pay 20% on 5000$

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. Short term health insurance plans have no concept of a copayment with the exception of the Atlas America when visiting the urgent care facility. With the Patriot America Plus you would pay all expenses out of pocket until you reach your deductible amount. Next the coinsurance would apply for the first $5,000 dollars whether you are in or out of network. Then the plan will pay the remaining cost 100 percent up to the policy maximum you select for covered expenses. With the Atlas America plan If the provider chooses not to bill directly you are responsible for 20% of the first $5,000 in covered expenses after the deducible or copayment. One of the benefits of going to a network provider is direct billing. Most of the time the provider should bill the insurance directly if they are in in-network. Please do keep in mind, direct billing is solely up to the provider so they can also decline to bill directly. In this case you would pay for the expenses out of pocket, and file a claim for reimbursement. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
