Q:I'm an international student at Long Island University- Post. I wanted to know if you offer any insurance plan which is compliant with the following requirements by the university; 1. The insurance company should be USA based. 2. The Plan should be fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act and all other federal and state mandates. 3. Should provide every benefit in the university area, both emergency and non-emergency. 4. Should provide coverage for the entire year. Please let me know if you need any other information.

A:

Q:I'm an international student from Germany and currently studying at the University of North Dakota for a semester abroad. Unfortunately, the university denied my health insurance, mostly because my provider is not located in the U.S. I am now looking for a new provider, who fulfills the university's criteria. I really hope you can help me find a plan that gets accepted! Thank you very much in advance!

A:

Q:I am looking for a visitor insurance but I have no prior experience buying one. When I look into plan details of Visitor Secure I see under "Medical-Outpatient" Up to $100 per visit, 10 visits max. Does it mean 10 visits for the entire period of insurance? I get 10 visits if I purchase either 1 day or few months?

A:
The plan allows for 10 visits maximum (outpatient) whether the plan is purchased for 1 months or 10 months. With the fixed coverage plans the benefits are going to be limited accordingly. The 30 day maximum is for Inpatient visits while admitted to the hospital. So the benefits you are reviewing in the schedule of benefits on the website is the outpatient visits but you are referring to inpatient benefit within the certificate wording document. If you look directly below the Inpatient benefits you will see the outpatient benefits for the plan and it will state the same information listed on the website. If you would like a more flexible plan please review the comprehensive plans as these are the plans that will make a difference and not limit you for needed visits as it pertains to new accidents a new illness that occur after the effective date of the policy. If you need any additional assistance please contact our office.

Q:I'm currently working under the OPT status, and looking for health insurance which is eligible for me. I live in MA, and my age is 27. I wonder if this insurance can avoid / skip the health insurance tax penalty at the tax report in Massachusetts.

A:
There are plans available to cover you while on your OPT status within the United States. However, these plan will not help you to avoid any penalties assessed by the government for you not having a compliant plan . If you would like to proceed with review the available options please let us know.

Q:I just purchased my insurance. I noticed there is a small mistake in my mailing address: I put my Italian address (I chose to receive my policy documents only via e-mail), and inside my Italian address it's written my city followed by FL (Florida): Varese, FL 21100 Is this a problem? Could you correct it?

A:
To make corrections to your address you would just send an email to service at insubuy.com and include your certificate number in the subject line and in the body of the email you can explain what needs to be corrected.
