Q:I'm going to travel to the USA for one week. I need an insurance for me and my partner (we live together). The questions are: - Is it possible to have an insurance for both even if we are not married? - we've already have an heath insurance in Italy that cover expenses with "indirect" refund (we get money back only after the expense) so we would need an insurance with direct refund just for this travel. Is it possible to have this?

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. You can't do one application for you and your partner. You have to do separate application. You can purchase any of the comprehensive plan which will have PPO network so hospital will send bill directly to insurance company. Our recommendation is the Atlas America plan. Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us.

Q:any advantage for Green Card holders? My parents are currently not GC holders. But if they become GC holders, and live for some months in India, and some months in USA, from Medical Insurance point of view, is there any advantages/disadvantages? Would they be eligible for getting insurance from "regular health insurance" companies in USA like Aetna, or United Healthcare etc that employer companies in USA provide to their employees? - See more at:

A:
Permanent residents of the US (green card holders) are required to have PPACA compliant health insurance for year round, whether they spend some time outside the US or not. Otherwise, they will have to pay the tax penalty. They should enroll into it as soon as they become green card holders. Otherwise, they will have to wait for the next open enrollment period. If they are unable to enroll into it or they can't because they are ineligible, they can purchase 'New Immigrant Insurance' for the short duration they will be present in the U.S., available at /new-immigrant-insurance/ If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us any time at (866) INSUBUY.

Q:I am planning to buy "Atlas America" insurance plan for my parents for 6 months. If renew the policy every month, will the deductible spent on last month carry forward or will it reset to zero again?

A:
The deductible on the Atlas America plan will be valid for the lifetime of the policy. So as long as you renew the same policy you don't need to pay deductible again. That means deductible is one time. Whenever you renew the policy there will be $5 renewal fees. Yes. Deductible will be carry forward as long as you renew the same policy. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us.

Q: I'm a bit confused about the Patriot America Plus insurance for new immigrants because when I try and buy it, it asks what my country of residence is, which will obviously be the United States since I'm immigrating but that's not an option in the drop down menu. It also asks when I'm returning to my country of residence, which is not in the foreseeable future since again, I'm immigrating. So what do I write to buy the insurance and for it to still be valid? Under country of residence, do I just put the country my passport is from? And under when I'm returning to my country of residence, do I just put any date or the date the insurance is to expiry?

A:
When you move to US. First you have to establish your residency means apply for Social security number it will take 1-2 months. So for new immigrant you can select home country that will be your country of citizenship. Date of return to home country will be expiration date of your insurance. Yes that's correct. Once you have social security number you can do domestic long term insurance or insurance through your employer. So in the beginning you can do either Patriot America Plus or any domestic short term plan. You can also find many plans at: New Immigrant Insurance If you have any further questions feel free to contact us.
