Q:I understand that Covid "is covered." I have two questions. First, if one of our family members cannot travel (and we're in the same house), can we cancel under this insurance? Or is it just the one individual? Second, if a country is closed due to Covid restrictions, would that be covered? I'm asking for a potential Brazil trip.

A:
Your trip cancellation plan can provide cancellation coverage for a covered unexpected illness like contracting Covid 19 and can cover that person for not traveling as well as any travel companions. A country closing borders etc. due to Covid 19 would not be covered. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I am a Cambodian citizen travelling to British Columbia, Canada for 30 days. \i will be travelling on a visitor visa. What kind of insurance do I need?

A:
You would need to verify visa insurance requirements with your destination country. For plans that can provide travel medical insurance based on your specified travel, you can find those plans through this quote link: /travel-health-insurance/ Some plans will also include benefits for Covid 19 and will state the information within the plan quotes. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I've bought a visitor's Insurance VS198237 some days ago and I've arrived from Italy yesterday (26/01/2023). I will be in NYC until April, 23. I would like to understand how iit works in case of- accident: where I have to go? Hospital, telefone, what do I have to bring with me to proof I'm insured- medical service: which medical services are provided? how do I understand if the doctor I desire is assured?- pharmacy: what exactly happens in this case? I've got some drugstore and pharmacy near my house, I would like to know how to use the ID

A:
Your plan does not have a network and therefore you can go to any provider. You would present your insurance ID card to the provider office so they can verify your benefits. The provider will either direct bill the insurance company, or have you pay up front for services and file a claim for reimbursement. You would be reimbursed up to your plan's benefit levels as long as the treatment or services were for covered medical expenses under the plan. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Q:I am with the University of Memphis international student office. My quest is does the Patriot American plan cover major medical up to 500,000.00 and does it provide medical evacuation and repatriation?Brenda Cowans bwcowans@memphis.eduamerica

A:
What plans would meet your requirements would depend on your visa status, for example an F1 or J1 visa holder and your sponsor. The Patriot plan can offer up to a $500,000 lifetime maximum based on age group and it offers up to $1,000,000 of medical evacuation and repatriation benefits. We would recommend emailing your requirements or school's waiver form to info@insubuy.com so that we can review them and forward you appropriate plans. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
