Q:I am an international student on F1 visa currently studying at University of Washington Seattle since September 2019. I will be taking a break from studies between 1st September to 31st December 2020 wherein I will not be taking any classes and hence will not be having full time student status. I am considering to purchase SHA Standard/Platinum plan for the period of 1st September to 31st December 2020. Am I eligible for it despite not being a full-time student (not taking any classes) during the insurance period? I will still be on F1 visa with a valid I20 and active SEVIS status.

A:
As long as you are on the active F1 visa you may purchase the plan. Should you have additional questions please let us know.

A:
Plans are designed to cover the new accidents and new illnesses that occur after the effective of the policy. There are plans that will cover pre-existing conditions after a waiting period of 6-12 months depending on the plan selected. You can review the Study USA Healthcare plan for coverage. We would also recommend considering your employer coverage as an option.

Q:Will it say in plain view on the documentation (that the insured person receives) that covid=19 is covered. This is needed to receive the 'Entry Permit' from the Thai embassy.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. If you purchase the plan from our COVID-19 Travel Medical Insurance section you will receive a confirmation of coverage letter shortly after purchase. This letter does state the plan includes coverage for COVID-19. In the plan details of each policy, there is an option to view the sample ID card and visa letter. This allows you to view the materials you'd receive before you purchase to ensure the document meets your requirements. If you have any additional questions, please contact our office at (866) INSUBUY.
