Q:Why INSUBUY Quick ques.. why should I buy through INSUBUY vs. going directly to the Insurer. Are there any advantages/disadvantages? Also it seems to me that Atlas America is the only one that covers Pre-existing conditions. How does it compare to Liasion in terms of how easily they pay up for the covered condition. Appreciate your answers. Thanks.

A:
Arun, Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance. There are absolutely no disadvantages in buying from INSUBUY. The price is always the same everywhere. However, there are numerous advantages in buying from us, as we help you not only before the purchase and during purchase, but also after the purchase if you need, all at no extra cost. If you bought directly and if you have any problem, who will be on your side to help you out? We, as a broker, work for you and not for any particular company. Please look at the FAQ at /visitors-medical-insurance/ to read the full list of benefits that you get if you purchase the insurance through us. For example, you asked a question about Atlas vs Liaison. If you ask each company directly, each company will say that they are the best. However, we have the knowledge and experience to tell you the difference in benefits and can help you select the most suitable plan for you. Moreover, the insurers do not sell these insurance plans directly. Whichever companies you are thinking are the direct insurers are merely the administrators of the plans and do the claims processing. Most of the marketing and sales are done by agents and brokers like us. Of course, there are many brokers out there and hundreds of web sites selling the same stuff. What is the advantage with us? We are a leading brokerage company and among many other things, provide you prompt customer service, such as answering your questions immediately, in this case. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. So I am sold that it is better to buy through you.. Now, let me ask what's the best option for me. My parents (age 69 and 59) are coming to US for 4 mths. They both have pre-existing conditions which are under control. I am looking for comprehensive insurance with low one-time deductible ($100) and no co-insurance. Policy upto 50,000. I know that Atlas offers limited protection for acute occurence of preexisting conditions. 1) Could you pls tell me that is there any alternative to Atlas. 2) Secondly, Atlas mentions that they do a direct pay with in-network doctors/hospitals. On paper it sounds good, how are they in practice? 3) What's Atlas reputation in terms of how easily they reimburse valid charges OR do they stall Thanks for your help. Arun. Thanks for the confidence in INSUBUY. 1. No, there is no other better alternative. Atlas is currently the only comprehensive visitors insurance in market that provides the coverage up to $15,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions for the persons below the age of 70 years. 2. Network is pretty good. In fact, there are multiple networks such as First Health, PHCS and CMN. Therefore, you get a wide choice all across the country. 3. They promptly pay the valid claims. In fact, I had purchased Atlas America for my own parents who visited us from August 2009 to January 2010. And my parents' age is about the same as yours, though father few years younger. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time or post them here.

Q:Atlas vs Protection America My inlaws are visiting in Aug for 3-4 months and their ages are 55 and 46 yrs. The have preexisting conditions like diabetes, kidney problem. Can you please suggest between Atlas and Protection plans for coverage in US. For waiving co insurance for Atlas (for 100% coverage), does the hospital have to do anything extra? OR Showing the ID card at the hospital which accepts First health network be enough for covering the 100%?

A:
1. Protection America does not cover anything related to an acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Atlas America covers up to $15,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Therefore, in your case, Atlas America would work out better. 2. You just have to show the insurance card to them and they can bill the insurance company directly in order to receive 100% coverage after the deductible. I suggest you read /travel-and-student-insurance-ppo-network/ I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Q:Insurance for International Student from Worcester Polytechnic Institute Hi, I'm an international student (from Peru) studying at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA and I'm looking around for insurance. Your policy seems pretty good thus far (although I'm having a hard time finding the exact requirements from my school - the waiver just says that it has to match or exceed requirements dictated by Massachusetts Law), but I have one more important question. From October to December 2010, I will be travelling to Cape Town in South Africa to do a Student Project (as a part of the University requirements). Will this insurance still cover me while I'm in SA? Thanks for all, Rodrigo

A:
If a student is enrolled in a US school, receiving credits but engaged in academic activities at a school abroad, they would still be covered by Study USA. You can find Study USA insurance at /study-usa-insurance/ I have a question about the international student health insurance. Right now I need get that insurance for me and my family (wife and son. But I need to know if I can cancel the insurance at any time or can not. Please write me back. That depends upon the insurance plan you take. Please contact our office with your requirements and we will let you know which plan meets your school's requirements.

Q:Clarification on ER Visit I was comparing Atlas America and Liason International for ER visit benefits. For Atlas America, it says that the room charges will not be covered if not admitted. And for Liason, it says that "Not covered if visit is not of an emergency nature". Does this mean that Liason also will not cover room charges if not admitted OR will they not cover both (visit charges + room charges) if the visit is not of emergency nature Also in case of ER visit, does the doctor decide whether it was an emergency For example, if someone faints and is taken to ER and Doctor determines that it was just because of exhaustionjet lag, will it be termed a nonemergency situation Thanks.

A:
In Liaison International, it will be determined at the insurance company's discretion whether some situation is emergency nature or not. If it is, it will be covered according to the terms of the policy. If it is not, nothing will be covered. I hope it answers your questions. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time or post them here.

Q:Visitor insurance for grandmother My grand mother who is 73 years old is visiting us from India. She will be here next week and will be staying for 3 months. After going thru the forums and doing little research and based your suggestions, i have decided to go with patriot america since it is a comprehensive insurancerenewablerefundable and has a PPO network. However one question i have is that my grand mother is in fine health and she doesn't have any pre existing conditions whatsoever. In the event something happens after she comes here, and if the insurance company rejects the claim saying that it's a preexisting condition, how do we make sure that the illness was not caused due to a preexisting condition Do we need to get some kind of checkup done in india before she comes here and getting a statement that she does not have any preexisting condition

A:
You don't have to get any check up done and you don't have to get any certificat regarding pre-existing conditions. When you get sick, it is determined by the claims department of the insurance company, based on the current treatment records and attending physician statement, whether something is a pre-existing condition or not. In other words, you will know about it for sure only after the fact. Please read /visitor-medical-insurance-pre-existing-conditions/ for further information regarding pre-existing conditions. I hope this answers your questions. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. Thanks for the clarification and for the quick reply.
