Q:My parents are visiting USA for 6 months from Match 5th to August 29th, I need to buy insurance for them. My mother is 65 years old and father is 76 years old. Can you please suggest what king of insurance should I be purchasing as I see lot of options.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. As you notice from viewing our website there are two different types of short term health insurance plans for visitors either fixed or comprehensive. The fixed coverage plans are more basic, they will be less expensive but they also will only pay a fixed amount for each procedure and you are responsible for the remaining difference. The comprehensive plans will be more expensive, but will actually pay a percentage of the total cost. This is why we would recommend you purchase a comprehensive plan. For your mother I would recommend the Atlas America plan, and for your father the Patriot America. I have emailed you quotes one for your mother, and the other for your father. You may also review the recommend plans by using the links below. You may purchase and receive a plan recommendation over the phone by contacting our office at (866) 467-8289. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:My name is Raquel and I'm from Portugal. I'm planning on going to the US on a Au pair program, for at least 1 year. I have a pre-existing illness on my thyroid and I need to do some blood test (TSH) to make sure that the levels are stable. The health insurance from the Au pair program does not cover this kind of blood tests, so I need and extra health insurance. I would like to know what kind of insurance your company would recommend and the cost of the insurance, please.

A:
Unfortunately there is no insurance that covers routine maintenance for the pre-existing conditions. You have to pay from your pocket. Please look at Au Pair Visa Insurance. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:I am trying to buy visitor insurance for my sister's family from out of country. I live in State of Washington and my sister's family will visit me and stay with me. While I am putting in the mailing address and I got this message "If the proposed insured is physically located in the State of Washington during this quoting session, then the purchase of this policy is prohibited and must be cancelled by clicking the cancel button. Otherwise, please click next." What exactly does this mean? They are not currently in WA yet, but they will stay with me in WA. Can I purchase the insurance for them or not?

A:
You can purchase Atlas America plan for your sister before her arrival in WA state. In short your sister can not be physically located in WA state at the time of application. So she is eligible to purchase Atlas America plan for her. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
