Q:Hello, My dad(78 years old) is visiting USA for 3 months from India and has a pre-existing heart condition. Can you please advice on what the best plans Insubuy might have for his case. Thanks.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The plans are primarily designed to cover any new illnesses, injuries or accidents which occur after the effective dates of the policy. The plans will not cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctors' visits, or immunizations. For your fathers age, there are many different plan options available on our Visitors Insurance section. You may view them by using the link provided.

Q:Hi, Me and my wife Bulgarian citizens. We are planning a trip to Peru in November but we have a small child and wonder what kind of insurance should we buy in order to get (full or partial) refund of the money we spend on our trip, like plane tickets, excursions, hotel accommodation, etc. in case our child gets a flu, virus or some other trivial illness. He is not travelling with us and would stay with my mother-in-law. Is this risk, as well as the risk of my mother-in-law contracting the same trivial illness included in "Trip cancellation" policy or we should buy "Cancel for Any Reason" policy? If the second, are eligible to do so as non-US residents/citizens? Thanks a lot! Kind regards

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. The trip insurance plans available which provide coverage for the Cancel for any reason are available only to U.S. Residents. You may purchase a trip insurance policy which is available to non-U.S. Residents which will provide coverage in the event you cancel your trip due to unforeseen events listed in the policy wording. We have provided links below of the plan options available. You may purchase using the links provided or over the phone by contacting our office at (866) INSUBUY

Q:I am now in Bangalore, leaving for USA on the 23rd of this month along with my wife aged 63 years and daughter aged 29 years. My date of birth is 14 Oct 1945. I have diabetes and blood pressure. I am first going to Maryland to my son and then going to various places like Orlando, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York. Can you suggest a policy which is not too expensive and also How do I pay from India. Because that is what I would like to do

A:
As long as you purchase prior to arriving in the state of MD then you can purchase the Atlas America plan. You will purchase the plan separately for you, your wife, and your daughter. While there is no plan for visitors that will cover any pre-existing conditions the Atlas America plan will cover the Acute onset of a pre-existing condition for your wife and daughter. Unfortunately, there is no such coverage for someone 70 plus. Acute Onset FAQ You are able to purchase from India as long as you have a card that will pay in US funds. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:My Father (78 years old) is arriving to US in a visitor visa from India and has a pre-existing heart condition. He will be staying for a month and half in Virginia and then another month and a half in Los Angeles. In total his stay will be about 3 months. Can you specifically list out the options that will work well for his Age and staying cities.

A:
As we typically recommend comprehensive coverage plans to any visitor coming to the United States we would recommend to review the plan Patriot America. This plan will cover the new accidents and new illness that occur after the effective date of the policy. There is not a plan on the market that will cover the pre-exiting conditions. You can also find additional plans on our Visitors Insurance section. Feel free to contact our office if you need any other assistance.

Q:My name is Sushanthi. My husband and I live in California, USA. My mother-in-law got ovarian cancer (stage 3C) 6 months back. She completed her treatment which included chemotherapy and surgery. She is healthy now. We want to bring her to USA to visit us and she is planning to stay for 3 months. We are worried if there will be any recurrence of her pre existing disease during her stay. Can you please let me know if we get a visitor insurance for her will it cover if she had any recurrence of the disease. If so, how much percentage do they cover. Will it include any tests or scans expenses too? Please let me know if you need any more information about her health condition.

A:
There is no short term plan for an international visitor which covers pre-existing conditions. However, We have some plan that covers an Acute Onset of Pre-existing Conditions. But as per my understanding a person doesn't get life threatening emergency because of cancer and chances are very less to get coverage for that. Some plan has specific exclusion for cancer. Insurance will pay for any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. It doesn't cover any routine maintenance for the pre-ex and preventive care. So you can purchase insurance for new injury or accidents. Please visit our website. Enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. If you provide your mother age, travel date and which state she needs coverage will be glad to send you quote by e-mail also. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
