Q:I have a question about the coverage for preexisting coverage. The plans say acute onset of preexisting condition is covered up to age 70. The current age for the visitor is 69 and he will turn 70 in October - 60% way through the policy period of 178 days. Does this mean this coverage of acute onset of preexisting condition will stop as the policy holder turns 70 or will it continue till the end of policy period. I am looking at the VisitorSecure and Visitor Care insurance plans.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Both plan acute onset of pre-existing conditions benefits remains same as per the original purchase. Are you purchasing insurance for whole duration or planning on extending the coverage? Under Visitor Secure plan if you extend the policy after his date of birth premium will increase while in Visitors Care premium remains same. You may view a comparison of the two plans here. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further clarification.

Q:My family is going to visit me in Rhode Island. My mother is 67 years old and will be travelling with 2 children, ages 6 and 4 years old. They will stay for 322 days beginning from 5 August. I found a quote in Insubuy with the plan Atlas Essential America. I'm asking if I can pay the amount by facility over 12 months from July 2019 to June 2020 giving that I must have the insurance for all 322 days to get my family authorized to come visit me. Also I'm an International Military Student in Navy and the requirements for the insurance say that repatriation in case of death must be $50,000 and it's only $25,000 in the plan I chose, I couldn't change it in the quote, how much will be the price of the insurance if so, and is there any other fees when I'll be paying.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The Atlas Essential America plan will not meet your requirement for the repatriation and there is not a options to increase this coverage. You will need to look at the Atlas America plan that will cover the repatriation of remains up to your policy maximum. With the coverage if you need to show the entire duration at one time you will have to pay for the entire duration at once. There is not an option to pay monthly and show the entire 322 days of coverage on your policy. You can purchase for 1 month and renew the plan monthly there after however the policy documents will only reflect the duration for which you have paid your premium. If you need any additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am a GT student at Georgia Tech.! I will be starting my OPT in Atlanta in a firm from August. I am currently in Europe for my program but I need health insurance from 30th July 2019 for at least 6 months up to 1 year. Please share the best packages with me. I would prefer to go to a clinic once a month and might involve a few diagnostic tests once in 3 months. Please suggest me if you have good plans.

A:
The plans will cover any new illness or injury after the effective date. You mentioned going to a clinic once a month and possible tests. In that case, if you are eligible for a domestic plan through your employer then we would recommend choosing that so you would have coverage for ongoing treatment. Some plans in the OPT section will cover pre-existing conditions but only after a waiting period and some have a limit on how much will be covered. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.
