Q:I am from the US planning to move to Netherlands Antilles and will need medical coverage that will cover pre-existing illness as well as medication. is this a possibility?

A:
Unfortunately, there is no short term plan that covers routine Dr. visit or medicine for the pre-existing conditions. Some plan provides coverage for the acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Please find more information at Acute Onset of Pre existing Conditions. You can purchase Expatriate Health Insurance. But again application needs to go through Underwriting dept. based on the medical information provided in the application Underwriting dept. will determine and will give you offer what is covered and what's excluded. Again none of the plan will cover pre-existing conditions immediately. There will be waiting period based on what kind of pre-existing conditions. Please review the expatriate plans and feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:Good afternoon, i am trying to buy an insurance for my dependents (my wife and two kids). I am studying in the US with a J1 visa and I have insurance from my university but I need insurance for my J2 dependents. I am already getting a quote online and i need the insurance for a year but I would like to pay for it every month. I set the options for a 30 day period but I do not see any option to do that. Would I have to get a quote any month or what can i do to set an insurance for a year with monthly payments?

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. If you want to pay monthly then you would enter the dates for one month and then renew the plan monthly. The plan would only show for the duration you have paid and not for the year. If your sponsor requires you to show coverage for the year then you would have to pay for the year. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Query: Atlas America I am planning to purchase Atlas America insurance for my parents who will be visiting US next month. I had few questions regarding it: 1. Mostly my parents will be located in Minneapolis, MN but would travel for few days to other places in the US. In case we need to avail medical attention during their stay outside Minneapolis, MN would Atlas America plan work? 2. Is there a limited coverage for pre-existing condition or until policy maximum? 3. Is there a refund for the unused portion of the insurance? For example, if I buy the insurance today for 3 months and due to changes in travel plans they need to curtail their trip to 1 month? Or I purchase the insurance today for their upcoming trip for next month and they need to push the dates by few months? 4. For the claims, should I be contacting Insubuy first or HCCMIS? 5. If I need to avail Urgent Care, and the doctor decides advises for example x-rays, blood tests, administers injections. How are these covered by Atlas America plan?

A:
1. Atlas America covers everywhere outside home country including during travel. (Home country- where they normally live/reside) 2. Atlas’s acute on-set benefit covers up to the policy maximum you choose. So for example, you choose a 100,000 policy maximum, you have 100,000 of Acute on-set coverage. 3. Cancellation policy- After a 5 day minimum purchase you are eligible for a pro-rated refund minus a 25.00 cancellation fee as long as no claims have been filed. Any claims filed, no refund. 4. You can file claims from our website and access claims forms. You can contact Insubuy at 866 INSUBUY if you have any questions about claims. 5. After the one time deductible, if you are at an in-network provider and they are direct billing the insurance company all new illnesses and injury medical expenses are covered up to the policy maximum. Out of network or not direct billing after one time deductible the plan will pay 80% and you 20% of the first 5,000 in charges and then the plan will cover at 100% thereafter. However, there are Urgent care centers and there are Emergency rooms- The above response applies to both, however, if someone goes to an Emergency room for an illness and they are not admitted into the hospital, there a 200.00 penalty co-pay.
